Just out of curiosity, has anyone ran into scammers on this site? I was PM'd about a DBW and ECM from Formula Dynamics combo for 1500. Long story short they came down in price asked me to send it via family and friends. I sent payment via PayPal but regular and I paid the fees so they would get the full amount. They refunded and insisted on a family and friends' payment.

I'm inclined to put the user here but not sure if it's allowed. Don't want anyone else to possibly get scammed.

I just read through this thread, this is absolutely crazy, it's really sad that scumbags like this guy exist. Just curious though if payment was sent via paypal why can't you guys simply file a claim a claim for non-receipt? Isn't that the whole point of paypal?

Wow just read the thread... That's crazy. Sounds almost like what I went through with not having funds to ship until a tracking number is provided. Interesting, wonder if they are the same group of people. I did find it odd that they went from $1500 for both units down to $600 shipped to San Diego. But I figured PayPal buyers protection would cover me if it was a sham...

I contacted lanuch china directly and asked for a price on a quality buy. Price was basically the same as online sellers so i didn't pursued it.
Surprised dude would scam people for $600.

That definitely sounds like a scam. You adjusted the payment for the full amount and they only want "Family and Friends" method so they can bypass Paypal intervention.

It wasn't a post-it was a PM after Replied to a for sale thread. ironically there is a new FS thread selling a set. Formula Dynamics DBW for Automatica and ECM - BRAND NEW...

and even more ironically its the same picture minus the invoice pic I received via email

Someone identifying as Mark Jones on the marketplace sold me a car cover complete with pictures. After payment was made, he hasn't shipped and Is dodging my inquiries. I am continuing to pursue. I just want to protect the members from being abused.
