Have any one ever had there rubber seal around the doors rip or tear, I have had that happen to my 06 GS, and I'm not sure if this is a freak accident or something that happens frequently?

Mirror trim kept stretching and falling off.

When I bought my 04 CC I noticed the rubber trim around the mirror on the drivers side door come on and off and it had a slight tear.

The dealer replaced it. All has been well for 7,000 miles... CM

If the coupe windows work like the spyder, the window lowers slightly when you pull on the door handle to open the door. I have noticed on my spyder that if you try to simultaneously open the door while pulling on the handle that it feels sort of 'stuck' until the window does it automatic lowering thing.
Then when you close the door, the window automatically raises slightly to fit into the rubber channel.
I think that if you do the immediate pull (or push from the inside) to open the door that the window pulls on the rubber channel, and if you do this often enough it tears the rubber. I know that mine has a minor tear that I attribute to this.

Rubber replaced under warranty on my 2003 Coupe

Back a year or so ago, my rubber trim around my windows tore (aft edge at top). Happened to both sides.

Dealer stated the windows were maladjusted from the factory. They adjusted the windows under warranty and replaced the rubber under warranty.

I was told the rubber was expensive so see what your dealer says.

The top rubber around the driver side mirror gasket was split, and I took it in (the second time) to get it replaced. This time, the dealer noticed the window went up too much and cut into the frame, and then tore the rubber. So they performed adjustment to the window, and noticed the the stop nut was missing (Italian QC ). Now, everything is OK :)

When I picked up my 06 spyder, F/M of San Francisco warned me to open the door in a two-step motion: lift the door handle and wait for the window to drop, then finish opening the door.

Your door handle microswitches should be adjusted to make this easy and automatic. My right side was tight out of the factory, making it difficult to drop the window without simultaneously opening the door.

Unrelated to that, my RH door's internal window gasket was installed improperly at the factory, so the window got stuck going up. It was quickly and competently replaced under warranty. The service slip showed $160 for that gasket, plus $40 for the side view mirror gasket. They adjusted the window-drop microswitch too.

Rubber around my trunk

The rubber around my trunk somehow get messed up and was preventing me from opening the trunk. I had to force open the trunk (I had my laptop and my bosses laptop in there) and now the the metal is bent on the trunk.... Not happy, and not sure if this will be covered under warranty.

It's at the dealer now...

I just noticed I too have this issue on my 06 GS...both sides torn on rubber just above the side mirrors...in fact the window itself appears to be hitting the door frame and has rubbed the black finish to the point where it has turned silver...hopefully will be covered by warranty.

Mine is coming off by the front of the driver's side kickplate. One member suggested I pull it forward and then try and push it back in but that didn't work. The dealer's 90 mis away so any other suggestions are appreciated.

Same problem about a year ago. They touched a bit of adhesive to a few spots and pushed it back in. You can most likely do this yourself. took the guy at the service center literally about 30 seconds.

Thx did you see how they pushed it back in? I have tried by hand to just pull and shove it in there, I'm in pretty decent shape and I can't seem to force it in. Did they use a tool to push under the kickplate?

On my car, that trim would slip in easily, but the first 2 feet would fall right back out when the door was opened. It may have an edge on it that keeps it in place, so you may have to tuck it under first then move inch by inch up to the end. I am very sure they didnt remove the aluminium plate or even use a tool, but didnt really stand over them.

The rubber door seal on the passenger side pulls out from passengers rubbing against it during ingress and is hard to get back into the track. Had to have the dealer do it.

It should be about about $500.00. Mine is torn as well and I called the parts dept to get a quote.

I think he's talking about the Spyder. The gasket is different then the Coupe. The Spyder's gasket is "one piece" that runs across both doors and across the windshield. It is indeed a lot more costly than the Coupe gasket, that as you mentioned, costs as little as $500.
