This type of damage happens when a car cleaner drags a ribbed vacuum hose over the corner. That's how it happened to mine.

That’s horrible. I’m sure you were upset.

I realised it too late and theorised on how it must have happened. My rear seat section is in otherwise pristine condition despite the car being 15 years old. Probably only 10 times have I ever had passengers in the rear this whole time.

As for getting upset, what's the point? People make mistakes. Car cleaners aren't the highest functioning people, nor are they paid enough to care, or are in a job that inspires pride in their work. The only guarantee of care is if you do everything yourself. And I try. But it's exhausting. So some of QC is a worthwhile and inevitable tradeoff for sanity.

It's all part of living with others in the world, isn't it?
