The car can shift into reverse no problem, but to put into 1st the center console reverse shifter does not seem to work. I can get it into 1st using the paddel though. Any ideas? Thanks.

Um, perhaps because it isn't supposed to do that?

Reverse to First

Um, Yah it is! Mine does. The only thing I can think of is you have to have your foot on the brake when you go from R to 1 using the center console shift knob and it takes a couple, 1 or 2, seconds for the system to respond. If your not already doing this and it still doesn't work, get it into the shop before the warranty is up. Good luck.

Well it used to be able to do that...Where the shifter is the their is writing, towards the back it says R.....towards the front it says 1/D or something along those lines.
My 2003 doesn't, so I (incorrectly) assumed this would have carried through.

The linkage is a bit fickle, so is the knob loose by any chance? More than a few people have had the unfortunate situation of it pulling off...

Linkage? It's just a couple of switches, there's no linkage.

I had that my electical connectors for some reason decided to separate, just a case of un doing the two screws lift out the unit and clean & grease then reconnecting firmly, worked for me , tho had to find the problem first . went through the normal checks fuses relays etc all in the rear wing above the battery
