I think the thread title is a little misleading, its a one-off coachbuild by zagato based on the GS Spyder, vs. a rejected design.

The way the rear window meets the rear side window is unique.
I don't recall seeing any other car where these two pieces meet at a point.

That's got to affect torsional rigidity. There's no way that roof adds any structural support. Also wonder what happens if it rolls?

Look at the rear glass, the surrounding is black out. Under that black paint, there must be the structure of the car. I think it is just the design that make to look like there is no roof structure.

This has been a long standing styling cue of Zagato along with the Double Bubble roof design and other features.

While I welcome the growing number enthusiasts that are now owning Maseratis. I hope that their enthusiasm for the marque will include getting to know its history and how many of the styling cues of the current cars are actually inspired by classic Maseratis of yesterday.
