Probably being stupid but the words (eg radio station or CD number etc) have turned from white to red. When I turn the engine off they go back to white. Anyone understand this?

Yes...mine changed when the lights were turned on.

That's an option (it looks nice in the dark, I must add...)

You select/disable the feature from the NIT menu controls, just press the right round knob and there ya go.

I don't think the 02 models had it, or maybe I just never noticed it but I found this cool little feature on my 06.

Yep - 02 models can be set for "day", "night" or "automatic" - which is switched by the lights. You have to go to the main display and choose setup.

Yep, 2002 models have it. Here are the shots.

Setup Screen (Sets: Night, Daytime or Automatic) and the brightness.
Night Time Screen - Red Letters
Daytime Screen - Black Letters
