Ok... I know it's a short somewhere... but any hints what to do?

Every once in a while, I'll be driving and the radio will just shut off and then "reboot" itself.

Thanks in advance.

What kind of radio (car) is it? The single-DIN Beckers in Gransports just do this, at least when you have an MMC card loaded with MP3's inserted. Not sure if they reboot spontaneously without the MMC.

I'd have to go look at my manual, but I seem to recall the coupe/spyder radios have a feature (which can be turned off) that automatically searches for a new station signal if the one you're listening to becomes too weak. On my radio, that results in silence for a few seconds (and the radio reception isn't all that great to begin with). Maybe that's what is happening?

jave...

Yeah.

I have a coupe.

It just suddenly turns off out of the blue. Maybe that's what's happening.

It also does it when playing CD... More OFTEN when it's playing a CD.

But sometimes the CD skips on bumps.

Maybe that's it???

If its turning off completely - not just going silent - perhaps its a short somewhere.
