It's because the valves in the mufflers open as the vacuum dissipates with the engine off.
Then as vacuum builds, they close again

No no no. Its TOTALLY different than just sport mode's open mufflers.

Thats the best sound IMO.

Catmanv2 is correct in how he's describing the valve operation... it's just that you're also in cold start mode with the car. The O2 sensors and Cats have not yet warmed up yet, the air injection system is in play, so it's pretty loud for the first 30 seconds on a cold start or so since everything is coming to temperature. It's a pretty epic sound, especially with an upgraded exhaust!

Best Regards,

Hi,
After a good few months I managed to get one, been looking at this particular one for a while but finally got a PPI done. It came back good although was very basic. However after a lengthy chat with the mechanic I decided i was happy to proceed. Just waiting on delivery now

I was considering the same cars last year I daily drive the car. I concluded this was the most reliable car of the bunch those other cars are real money pits. I have had no real except the occasional low battery causing a random electrical issue from doing lots of short drives and not keeping it on a tender. A quick battery charge will get rid of whatever problem you have. Also don’t worry too much of the varirator issues they effected very few cars to begin with. It seems not using the car that often could be the problem, and there seems to be workarounds if your worried like an accusump oil accumulator. This is the car you won’t regret it. Just don’t make my mistake and not get it on a lift. You need to check the brakes thoroughly, in my case the back of the rotors were starting to rust not visible without a lift. Fortunately formula dynamics sells affordable performance upgrades like the lightened rotors which I would have done at a later time anyway.

Congratulations. I got mine around a week ago and I’m really happy with it. Mine was 2012 and bough it from someone I knew, he extended the guarantee and also mentioned that was a waste of money as all the parts that he had to changed weren’t cover by the guarantee.

Congrats !
Ya’ know, one can look at 100 photos of these cars every day, and never get tired of it .. .sure, it maybe the same with many Ferraris and Aston Martin DBs, but the GTS/MC is in that rare stratosphere of phenomenally beautiful automobiles . And the fact they’re so mechanically reliable puts them on an even higher pedestal in my mind ..

Hi All,
So she arrived last night on a transport from London, In front of her was a stunning old mustang. All the neighbours had poured out onto the street to look and when I went to start her I got the dreaded click, click. Battery was knackered but I knew this before I bought her, Everyone had a good laugh but we got her going, they were not laughing so much when she started and I could see them thinking this is our early morning alarm!! Anyway battery arrived today and installed in about 30 mins, had a couple of little issues such as the boot wouldn't work as did the petrol filler door. After a bit of messing both are now fully functioning. Took her for a 20 mile journey around my area and the car feels strong, zero clucks or rattles and everything feels tight. Right at the end I had forgotten about sport mode!!! Wow, absolutely amazing sound, I had an M5 before and it doesn't feel any less powerful even though it is, pulls strong and that SOUND!!! I'm in love!! Car had a Major service 1000 miles ago in October at H.R.Owen so again all good. In her 26k miles she has had 5 services. A couple of light scratches that I will polish out tomorrow. A couple of scuffs on the alloys and I will probably just get a full refurb when things open up more. Probably have the calipers re painted also as they are a little dull. Interior is mint. Engine bay clean and oil free. Everything works as it should. Delighted!!! Thanks for all your lovely comments and help.
Oh and she will be my daily driver!!
