Poor display of MAserati on British TV

hello,

Just wanted to inform all Maserati enthusiasts about a poor TV showing of a 1974 Merak on British TV. It was on the BBC network in a programme called Top Gear which is also shown on BBW World. Anyway the hosts had a challenge to go out and buy for £10,000 an Italian supercar, and to prove whether they were reliable...Sadly if you are a maserati fan i trongly advise you not to watch it. U can pick up the show on the site www.finalgear.com

What date did this air? It's arranged by date with no descriptions of the episodes.
the date is the 4th of December 2005, although this episode concerning the MAserati was shown on BBC World today!
Really those cars were the bottom of the barrel. Any 20+ year old car that hasn't been driven much and hasn't had much it the way of maintenance would break down like that. Not that these cars aren't fragile, but it's like they deliberately set out to find the biggest POS they could get and see if they could make it.

That Maserati was pretty nice. The bit about the SS badge was hilarious.

"I just had to stop and fill my car up with electricity."
It was quite entertaining..although a bit shoddy...but i have to admit the cars looked great even though they had suffered years of abuse!
Which Maserati models was featured ? The Merak or Ghilibi ?
It was a 1975 Maserati Merak..although it is badged an SS
