I recently acquired one of the limited edition IWC Pilot - Laureus Sport Foundation. It has a blue dial with blue leather straps and an engraved back with a drawing from one of the kiddies at the Foundation.

Here are some pics that was taken on the same day... :)

Good choice. Like the IWCs but my preferred lineup is their Portuguese range, although I must say the Longines Master (3-dial chrono particularly) is very elegant. Although the hottest one outta there is the New TAG Grand Carrera.

Some weeks ago I had to go to Milan and booked into the Bulgari hotel... my choice everytime I have to go there. Arrived at about 1 AM after my plane got delayed by fog. Anyway, arrived to the hotel very tired, and upon check-in the concierge lady (correction: babe) said to me "...oh, maybe to cheer yourself up from such a nightmare trip, maybe you could consider this new gents watch from our new 08 lineup..." (it was an Assioma chrono) adding "...and, of course, I can give you a 1.5K Euro discount so you can enjoy it right away..."

Needless to say, I said "not on this occasion, but thank you..." :D

Actually I do have a Portuguese Split Second... beautiful watch... but somehow, it doesnt really matches the car... i mean Maserati nowadays, to me, bares the character a brand that is elegant yet carefree - i.e. people owning a Maserati is hardworking, conscious of the way they interact with others but yet overtly independent. Therefore the perfect watch to match the new Maserati branding is actually not the AP - but rather something like IWC or JLC. Watches that have certain complication but not out of the world - down to earth - I must be the first person to say that Maserati is a "down to earth" brand.

Absolutely... I was not meaning the Portuguese is the "perfect blend" for the Maser... what you bought really fits the ticket (with nice color match of the dial with Victory blue) and guess is priced much more sensibly than the AP... although it must be said the Maser AP is a Tourbillon, which in price do start at about 35 to 40 GBP for the more "affordable" examples. The very nice IWC Mystere has a 55+ GBP sticker price to it (110+ US, pretty much the price of a new Maser...)
