I know keeping the car in sports mode is better for the clutch. Would switching to non sports while maintaining 6th gear on long high way drives not affect clutch wear? Just wanted a little more comfort, yet extend clutch life.

On the open highway it's the only way to go!!

I do that all the time, and the car is a better ride than a cadillac! There is nothing like cruising on the open highway, listening to tunes and enjoying the sound the car in 6th, non sport mode, etc.

I've been doing this also at times but I have no issue shifting back and forth b/n 4th and 6th depending on traffic - I doubt the difference in clutch wear between sport vs. non-sport mode is even measurable as most of the clutch wear happens at slow speeds b/n 1/2/3/ and not during the quick shifts on the highway from 4/5/6/5/4.

BUT, if I'm 'weaving', I leave it in Sport.
