New member, looking for a GT

Hi guys,

I'm a new member looking forward to join the Maserati community here in the US.
I'm from Italy but have relocated to California 6 years ago.

I'm looking to buy an early GT to use as one of the weekend cars with the family. I currently have a C3 Vette which is a 2 seater.

I use to own and worked on Alfa and Fiat cars back in Italy but never had the opportunity to own a Maserati.

My current budget is in the middle 20K. I've seen some online but haven't find anything really interesting so far.

A quick million dollar question :)
Would you take a GT with very high mileage north 80Ks miles, 2 owners and full service history with proof?
Or a low mileage ~30K with several owners and no service history?

Also, please let me know if any of you are selling an early GT or know someone who is.

Grazie mille
Antonio

I would add another 10k to the budget. If you buy the cheapest Maserati you can get, its gonna be problems.

If I had to pick I would take the lower mileage one, but that price is suspect.

Thanks for the feedback.

There are few 08's on the 25k range in my area. Will start looking at those the next days.

Anything specific I should be focusing on when inspecting an 08 GT?
I heard a lot about the rattling noises on cold start for the known variator issue.

If variators and coolant pipe have been fixed and you can it for around your price I’d do it!

Pulled the trigger on a 2 owners 2008 with 44k.
It has some service history but I couldn't speak to the previous owner (he sold it to a dealer).
Will see how it goes, will post some pics when I take full ownership.
