Alfa introduced its new Spider based on the Brera at Geneva today.
Here's an interesting tidbit from the article:
"Initially, the Spider will be available in two versions offering either the 185 bhp 2.2 JTS engine, or the powerful 260 bhp V6 3.2 JTS. The latter is implemented together with a Q4 4x4 transmission and a higher specification level. A more potent GTA version could follow suite in October 2007, possibly featuring a Maserati-derived V8 engine and 6-speed Selespeed transmission."
So here you have a Spider based on the Alfa "premium" platform with the V-6 AND possibly the Maserati V-8 as engine options. It's also designed by Pininfarina who is rumored to be responsible for the "new" Maserati Coupe and Spyder.
Will the Maserati engined version be branded as an Alfa, or Maserati, or both? Will Maserati abandon the lower priced coupes/spyders to Alfa and concentrate on the QP and MC (and possibly the Birdcage 75).
