i'm new to this board - looks great!

i am ordering a gransport - black exterior and black leather. want to get red piping to match the red calipers. however, i don't know whether to get the grey or black interior fabric. i've seen the black leather/grey fabric combo and like it, but worry about keeping the grey clean. the dealer thinks the black leather/black fabric/red piping will look great, and i tend to agree, but i've never seen it. does anyone have any pictures of the black/black interior combo? has anyone seen it and can comment on it? i need to decide very soon. thanks!

thanks. can someone verify that those pics are of the grey fabric and the last pic on the last link is dark grey leather? i've seen the grey fabric before, but have never seen the black (nero competizione) fabric. i would love to see a picture of that if someone has it. i would be getting black leather, i still want there to be a noticable contrast between fabric and leather, but just thought the grey gabric was too light of a shade.

thebimbo, thanks for the pics. although i'm a little confused. i would have thought the grigio nickel (phil's car) would be several shades lighter than nero competizione (your car). they appear fairly similar. is that accurate? i would have thought the nero competizione would be more black, but to me it looks like it is a medium grey and the grigio nickel is a little bit lighter grey. would you agree? any descriptive commentary would help. thanks! also, did you think about a different color for the piping?

trice, the problem here is the fabric texture. You can only get a good interior pic with flash, or at the very least in bright weather, and the fabric is extremely light sensitive. That is why grigio nickel and nero competizione can sometimes look very similar in photographs.

The colors are much less sensitive to the naked eye. Grigio nickel is light and nero competizione is fairly dark. I love pizza and thebimbo will correct me if I'm wrong here, but I think this is a valid explanation.

The GranSport I have on order is black, with black leather, nero competizione fabric and black piping. The photo below shows how badly the camera can distort grigio competizione (very black this time). Out of curiosity I messed around with Paint Shop Pro to sketch in the red mats, but I did it rather badly!

My dealer's GranSport was exactly the same as the car I have on order with one exception. It had the red piping you mention. I chose black piping because I thought the red broke up the cohesion of the interior and looked out of place, but this is an entirely personal prejudice!!

Good luck! :)

Just to add my 2 cents...

See as many interiors as you can and this website is the best source hands down. To me its all about what attitude you want to create. The black interior with dark nero fabric looks incredibly racy. My black leather with light grey (grigio nickel) is not as racy but provides a good contrast. The blu metal I like, but have yet to see it in person, some people love it, some hate it. The light gray leather with grigio nickel I liked and its posted on here, the tan with nero fabric I like and its a rare combination, very classy. You really can't lose, but we were all in your same boat and in reality every one looks fantastic, you can't lose.
