I have discovered two taped-off cables (one single wire, one twin wire, both black). Please see the photo.

They are located in the passenger footwell (LHD 2005 4200 CC) above the fuses and relays, and both dangle down from the transmission tunnel.
Any idea what they might be, please?

Something aftermarket they most likely tied into the fuse box at some point..Try to follow the wires to some magical box or something..Jason

Yes, certainly looks to be aftermarket.
I can't trace the wires up into the transmission tunnel without taking things apart, so I'll just let sleeping magical boxes lie for now.
