Hi guys. I have bizarre issue on my 08 QP 4.2 as stated on the title line: the msp, asr, suspension and gearbox are popping up at the same time. The box gets into lock on 4th gear no matter if in manual or auto. This will happen no mater if I disable traction or not. If I am driving like my grandma then it won't happen or will happen very rarely. If I drive it like an easy Mazi then it will come almost instantly. Turning engine off and on cancels all flags but then it will come back. I can not see logical connection between msp, asr, suspension and gearbox. If you have had experienced anything like that I would appreciate some more info on what is going on here. FYI: 1st think in my mind was electrical issue so I checked the battery and the alternator. 13.89V on idle and 4.22 at 3K rpm so I think this is off the table... I did not hit anything nor I "swim" over the ocean of poopoo... Just makes no sense...

You'll need to have the car scanned for faults...All those systems are linked together with a variety of sensors...A normal OBD2 scanner will not work in this case..Jason

As ever @[email protected] Enzo`s Atlanta has the right of it. I will observe that if it has an over voltage condition, the ZF box will lock in 2nd or 4th until restart....

You actually have to use a diagnostic tool.
The ESP/ASR and skyhook faults are just the consequence of another problem. They will disappear as soon as the cause is resolved.

@Catmanv2 I don’t see over voltage possibly at this point, but thank you for info about ZF locking on 2nd . I thought it does it at 4th only

Ok, scanning all systems in auto using xtool d9 pro and nothing .... xtool reader provides live voltage monitoring and I noticed what it reads out of obd is less than what I have seen on the battery, this leads me back to the idea of wearing alternator ( my car is 2008 so it can go only because of it's age ). I ordered new one from UK and will update after it will be replaced.

BTW: @[email protected] Enzo`s Atlanta what will be the best diagnostic tool for Maserati and Land Rover/ Range Rover cars, I am looking for a tool with coding capabilities. I see you are an expert on those cars so I will appreciate your advise here.

When you say coding? Do you mean programming? That is not gonna be very realistic for a DYI person...The software is just too expensive to justify it..Jason

I'm not sure what you are trying to do because you didn't answer the question...There isn't one be all scan tool for every make....Jason
