I finally received my car today (2002 Spyder). It didn't come with a manual so I need to re-order one tomorrow.

Without the manual I haven't been able to figure out how to set the memory seat function (which also set the mirrors if I am not mistaken). Every time I start the car, the mirrors re-set themselves into a previously set position. Can anyone please tell me how to correctly set up the memory function?

Thanks a lot!

Cheers,

Went and got my book to double check and here are the instructions from it
"Storage is only possible with key in MAR postion. Adjust the seat and mirrors postions, then shift the gear to reverse and arrange the mirrors once again so as to find the optimum field of view for executing maneuvers. Afterwards, disengage the reverse gear. Rhen simultaneously press button M and button 1 or 2 until the double beep is heard for confirmation. Storage of the seat postion does not include the lumbar area seat-back adjustment. To recall one of the postions stored with door open, push the relevant button 1 or 2 for approximately 3 seconds. A stored postion can also be recalled with the door closed, keeping the relevant button pressed untill the seat locking beep is heard."
I will try this tonite as I have not used that function yet, Seems I like seats adjusated according to the way I feel like driving at that moment. Maybe I could use button 1 for aggressive driving and 2 for laid back cruising. If you have any other questions while waiting for your book let me know, I will keep my book handy.

Just an update on the memory seat function. I was just at the Collection to re-order owner's manual and set up an appointment to have the car service when I'm away on vacation. There seems to be a malfunction on my left side mirror. They couldn't get it to do what it's supposed to do... seems to have a will on its own. They'll take a look at it when I leave the car.

Thanks for trying to help though, Scott. In the meantime, they gave me a manual for the Coupe.

I had the same thing happen on mine - the memory worked fine, but when you put the car into reverse the mirrors went up and down a few times and pretty-much settled back to where they started...

The dealer replaced the control unit which drives the mirror motors and the problem went away.

mirror help

Hello everyone. My Right hand mirror does not retract i.e. fold back although I can hear the motor working.

everything else on the mirror is OK. I also bought a new mirror complete but unpainted.
Any ideas as to what is causing the problem or which screws to undo to take the mirror apart?
TIA my car is euro RHD.

I have the same problem, sometimes, the driver side mirror won't responde to the memory keys. Direct control is OK. Dealer ordered a new memory control module (the one that's under the seat), will install next week. I will let you know how it go.
