Was asked by my dealer... dunno the pricing yet... but should i even be bothered with the GTS?

(One really down point is that the GTS does come with the auto tranny...)

Personally for me the GTS is not an option if it doesn't come with a boost in hp. The optical mods don't really do it for me, the upgrade in brakes is nice, but, again personally for me, not necessary. I am quite content with my 05 DS, which provides exciting yet extremely reliable transportation. The QP is, by a wide margin, the most exciting sedan I have ever had the pleasure owning!
If you don't need to have four doors, or the comfort of a long wheelbase transport for long haul drives, stick with what you have. Only my 2c. :D
From what I have been told, the DS is a dying dinosaur for the QP.

Don't expect to see it any more.

It's all auto tranny from now on.

I certainly wouldn't hope so. It seems though that the majority of QP buyers these days are the ones who want the Auto tranny as opposed to the DS, especially here in the US. I wouldn't trade my DS for an Auto at this point, as I am having too much fun with it. I think once you accept it's functionality as a motorized manual and stop comparing it to an regular auto (with torque converter) you start having real fun with it. But again, I think the majority of QP customers these days don't want to shift manually and for the auto function the ZF tranny in the Automatica does certainly a better job than the DS. I really don't hope that the DS is a "dying dinorsaur" though.
I have no interest in an Auto. Really really love my '07 Sport GT with DS. However, would like to get my hands on the new springs so I lower my '07.
Hope Mas keeps the DS for us real drivers.
vincent, not the MCV.
the MCV is quite special; it is the most desireable version of the coupe/gransport.
the QP GTS is *the* QP to get for 2008 (unless you want executive).

i m still very very curious about the marketing of maserati. they could have boosted the hp to 450hp as in the Alfa 8C into the QP GTS to make it a more special model.

the QP is subpar in the HP category since its introduction.
3 years into production, and as well with the intro of the GT, the V8 is really desperately needing a boost. (6 years, if you count the coupe and spyder).

each year, they like to tweak the QP a little
2006 (added the Excecutive GT, Sport GT)
2007 (added the AT)
2008 (added the Sport GTS)

seriously, the V8 really needs improvement.
you will regret it if they all of a sudden bump the HP in 2009 or so.
(although, i doubt it... they will piss off the 08 GT owners too)

I will not trade the MCV for a QP Sport GTS unless you really need the space or the doors, or your dealer give you a good trade in.

don't quote me but i think the GTS springs might not be retrofitable to the skyhook suspension.

I agree, I agree. For the Sport GT a natural choice should be the DS. But I guess, there aren't enough sporty people around like us to keep DS alive. :D

A sport GT with auto is an oxymoron.
Thanks guys... i am just contemplating coz i have something "raw-er" than the MCV coming soon... so was actually thinking about a decent 4 doors car... the Mitsubishi I doesnt really strike an impression...

If that's the case, I guess the GTS would be a good choice for a sporty 4 door... So what's "raw-er" than the MCV? Lemme guess... The 430 Scud?
I m guessing GT3 RS...
GT3RS might be too hardcore for him without aircon? hehe
haha... my friend here in HK has a GT3 (not the RS... we are getting old and not having the luxuries of life will drain us further...).

yes the raw-er machine should be around soon... i hope. the scud is not easy to come by here in HK...

so thus, not the scud...
