I think honestly the racing buckets may be holding this car back from selling. Not sure why you would want them unless your primary use is going to be for track days. I'm going to guess the vast majority of MC20 owners will be using it as the GT street car Maserati intended.

Not sure why it's not selling, probably a combination of the seats and the color. The tricolor yellow is absolutely gorgeous and I wish I could sport that but for where I live in the southern chi burbs even a white or gray mc20 will draw a lot of attention.

I agree, I would never buy a car with racing buckets without trying them first. But honestly these are not hard core at all as far as lightweight fixed seats go, actually far easier to get in and out of and more comfortable than the porsche fixed CF buckets. Even though I'm not going to track it, I do really appreciate feeling locked in without any sliding around, but obviously that's personal preference.

My sales manager has submitted a request for a change, not sure it'll happen, but we'll see. The interior does lose a bit of character w the LWB options tho.

I would be very surprised if they permit any changes or even reply. its like pulling teeth to get any information for Italy.
Absolutely right, my dealer said I have a 1% chance, but I figure I'd at least try. I'll be perfectly happy w the sofas if I don't get it anyway.

I did ask about whether he thought there would be a hybrid or just straight to full EV and he thought they wouldn't be doing a hybrid as the new granturismo and grecale are also only going to have ICE and pure EV and no hybrid option. Disappointing if this turns out to be true...this chassis could handle an 800-850 hp hybrid powertrain like a 296.

the brand is still a joke on how it deals with its customers. all they talk about is how important this car is for the brand and the US market. and they ghost their customers during the whole process. I would never have put a deposit on one of these if I had known the kind of customer service I would receive from the brand.. one lie after another. I am very thankful that the dealership that will be keeping my girl up has great staff. but it does make them look bad when you ask questions they can't get answers for because they get ghosted by the brand as well. I am at supposedly about 30 days from delivery from what I have been told my car left italy last week. I am having the car wrapped in ppf when it arrives so the blue is going to have a matte finish which I can't wait to see!!! I can't bring myself to buy any ev part of the enjoyment of owning these kind of cars is feeling/hearing the motor you loose that with the ev's. when I was at the dealer giving up my vanatage last week they had a dbx 707 on loan from aston.. omg that thing was sic!! lots of carbon on the outside a real pretty suv that I would consider if not for the dash problem as well as the garbage local dealer for the brand. I have my feelers out for an urius next to replace my afla in the coming months.. its nice to see the price on them is starting to come back down as people are coming to their senses and not paying the crazy inflated price people have been paying for the for the last year plus.

Friend of mine that visited the Maserati factory a few weeks ago was also told they will be going full EV next with no hybrid option.

It's unfortunate, but honestly I'm not too surprised, I had a 2009 Granturismo a long time ago and the dealership experience was pretty abysmal, it took quite a bit to entice me back into even considering a maserati again. That said, I kind of look at it with eyes wide open with regards to the brand/company and it's weaknesses and glass half full...if they had launched and marketed this car properly for what it is, it would be nearly impossible to get and would be going for 50-100k ADMs as opposed to buildable allocations at MSRP with 6-9 mos lead time. This has the possibility, if they do truly keep the production numbers low and the car is fairly reliable, to do what no modern maserati has done...maintain resale value. :)

I totally understand your bitterness at this point though @skatesusa.com, hopefully much of that will be washed away when you get the beast finally. Your car with a stealth ppf will be gorgeous.

I also agree on EVs, my daily is an etron GT and I like it for what it is...a nearly soulless appliance. :)

Ya I mean at this point we all know what you get with a Maserati supercar. Fabulous design and rarity. I'm sure I'll see fewer MC20s on the road than huracans. But goddamn do they shoot themselves in the foot with customer service / marketing.

I still wish it had a V8, but I'll probably be looking to add that Novitec exhaust once they release it.

ya.. I have just always wanted a lambo.. but for how much over sticker huracans are going for and that fact that its a lambo with no lambo doors :( the new evo's are sooo sick and the interior of them is so crazy!! sort of bummed on the spartan interior of the mc20

I agree a bit more flash/character on the mc20 interior would have been nice, but it's a very clean design and very roomy cw the huracan, which has more of a busy, cramped cockpit feel.

For what it’s worth, there may be a difference between pre and post delivery of the MC20. In my case (just one data point, so perhaps take it with a grain of salt), information was very scarce from the factory (just an occasional update code when it moved through the stages—yes, frustrating); however, my experience post-delivery has been that corporate/factory has been super responsive to questions, which illustrates to me a definite willingness to keep MC20 customers happy. My dealer has always been great (that’s a given). But, hey, just one data point, although a few different engagements with different aspects of the brand’s structure.

I guess in thinking about it further (note, I’m not defending them or trying to get anyone riled up here), but it may be to the Factory, we are all just a $10 fully-refundable order, which can easily be cancelled at any time, so why invest the time and energy in us until we are all a bona fide customer—merely a Rhetorical question.

But if their goal is to reinvigorate the brand, the way to start is by really winning the conquest halo car customers over, right? Most of us that have ordered an MC20 are coming from another brand's supercar, and if they want us in the pipeline flipping the mc20 coupe for a cielo and then maybe the EV or to buy one of their SUVs or the new granturismo, then going over the top keeping us in the loop with production status (and maybe even pics of the build at the factor) and sending us stupid trinkets in the mail while we wait on the build goes a long way. That's the way every other supercar brand has done it, and many of those like Lambo, Mclaren, or Ferrari don't even have far less expensive SUV/sedan options that could benefit from the halo effect.

Yep, I agree. I was just explaining what their thinking may be. I will say, I did receive some items…poster, carbon pen, MC20 hat, and MC20 note pad from Mazzy, several months ago. Then about a month after delivery, I received a BBR 1/18th scale model of my MC20 (down to correct exterior color, roof color, and wheel style), in an enclosed case and boxed in an embossed blue Mazzy box. There are a few of these models on EBay at $400 to $600. It was a surprise and very nice gesture as I can see my car while at my desk even though it’s a few floors down in the garage. 😎 It shows me they are trying; but fully agree, I’d love to have had great engagement from the beginning. That said, it hasn’t diminished my love and enjoyment of the car. My dealer also gave me a very nice gift, mid way through the process, so I think they are all trying (again, just one data point).

Awesome! I hope they do this for the '23s as well, sometimes it's a launch year thing. :) That's definitely a big move in the right direction.
