So I finally got to test drive one. They had a Bianco at Glenview Maserati I got to take for a short spin. Quick thoughts....fit and finish is excellent, looks amazing in person as expected, excellent steering feel for an electric rack, easy ingress/egress for a carbon tub car w dihedral doors, power is good but not mindblowing...very progressive buildup, of course I didn't push the car too hard, it was an untitled car with 300 miles (probably driven by the previous dealer's owner lol), ride quality is good (easily a daily driver, not mclaren super series or 911TT comfy but perfect for my purposes). 309k sticker car they are asking 350k. On my drive home they call me to let me know they just got another allocation for a 23 coupe at MSRP...so maserati must have just sent out another round of allocations these past few days. If anyone wants the sales guy contact, DM me.

As far as negatives...for me the seats were not supportive enough, it has the Blu seats...my dealer tells me (although not specifically mentioned on the configurator) there are 3 seat types with the laser cut seat options having more bolstering...hope he's right, I was sliding around a bit. Fine for a street car, but probably not enough support for canyon driving, and definitely not track. I ordered the iron brakes, I like the CCB on the car I tested but a bit mushy at the top of the pedal travel. Sounds...I love the turbo whistle, but the exhaust stock is way too quiet like every review says, I'm sure Maserati will introduce a sport exhaust in '24, but this car absolutely needs an aftermarket exhaust IMHO. All in all, I'm happy w how I configured my car, and as it locked today and I have an order # I guess I have to be lol.

Oh, just to add, I asked my dealer about the OLED screen in mode selector as well as the 360 camera and he said he was told those are going to be in the 23 cielo but not the 23 coupes (they'll probably added to the 24 coupes?).

Only thing I would add (and I’m still learning the car) is that it’s a different experience in different modes; i.e., GT, Sport, Corsa and how you dial the shocks and whether you are in D or M, so there are a lot of different combinations between the three variables depending upon the roads and how aggressive you want to drive. My preference is Sport mode, soft shocks (dialed down from the Sport default), in Manual, for normal driving. Seems to be the nicest combination of comfort and entertainment.

So for anyone interested in a yellow car, the Westmont dealer had someone back out on a car coming next week. Looks like a gorgeous spec as well, I don't know the pricing. One interesting thing I saw on the build sheet is it has Q60A Lightweight monocoque racing seats, which I have not seen on the configurator, looks like it's something that may not be offered right now (due to supply?). I don't think this is the same as ordering the sport comfort seats with the CF back. This looks like a single piece CF bucket. Interesting also as I think this is the seat in the car Smoking Tire reviewed. I'm going to try and swing by and sit in them when they get it at least. My own dealer was unaware they even exist lol. Pretty ridiculous how bad Maserati has been at keeping the dealers informed...my dealer doesn't even have paint frogs for the colors, let alone seats for us to try out. I'd never buy a bucket seat without trying it first.

I have the standard leather seats. I think they are very supportive and I really like them. From past experience, I would never own a car with a one piece fixed racing seat. Ouch! Only 20 minute drivers at best. There was a time on the Lamborghini SVJs, where the ones with the racing seats were offered at a big discount over the ones with the comfort seats.

Usually yes I agree fixed lightweight bucket seats are not great for a "daily driver" supercar, and this isn't a "track" ready version of the MC20 so probably goes best w the standard sports seats and not buckets. It's just irritating that Maserati does not have examples at their stores for prospective customers to try, and they haven't even bothered to educate the salespeople that they are (or at least were at one point and likely will be again sometime) an available option. I have the carbon buckets in my GT3 RS and ingress/egress is a bit of a pain but once you're in they are quite comfortable for me.

The absolute best seats I have ever had are in my Ferrari 430 Scuderia 16M. Perfect for the track, but you can literally spend 3 hours in them on a road trip and be 100% comfortable.

Agree, the standard leather seats in the MC20 are very nice…I’d prefer a few more adjustments (pitch, height, thigh extender), but I’m nit-picking, as this isn’t meant to be a Continental GT. That said, I never expected my dealer to have seat examples, as there’s only about 300 cars made for North America (so call it 250 for the US, or 5 cars per state on average, or two to three cars per dealership was the allocation. Most dealers (and buyers) never even seen the car before purchase (sadly, I was one of them, but took the leap, and I’m quite happy I did). I think that’s where some of the value of community comes in…owners can weigh in on certain options/questions, etc. which can be valuable to owners and buyers.

Sorry, I thought it was standard at Ferrari dealerships to have seat demos, I haven't been to the local dealers in a couple yrs but last time I was at Continental a few yrs back they had examples of the seats for the 488 in the showroom to try out, maybe that was a traveling display? I also have never seen this at a Porsche or any other dealer, but Porsche only has one size bucket seat whereas Ferrari has multiple sizes if I recall so being able to try them out is more important? Absolutely community is important, even more so for a low production car like this, but it still makes no sense to me why my dealer was even unaware there was a lightweight bucket option. I understand not wanting an 18-way controllable seat on what is a lightweight sports car, but an option for a more bolstered seat like the Porsche 4-way sport seat would be nice.

yes, last run of 2022 Coupes which mine will be one of!! . Regarding production numbers he was told they will build to meet market demand. So if that means more of one than the other say for example 70% spider vs 30% coupe, that's what they will produce.

Awesome, so you'll likely get yours this year! Did they mention to him if the 23 coupes would have the other additions for the 23 cielos (360 cam, emergency braking, LED screen in drive mode selector)?

Napleton just got a yellow coupe that someone backed out of, it's available. Has the lightweight bucket seats. They're asking 331 if anyone is interested. I'm going to try and swing by at some point just to see how the seats feel.

So I just swung by to check out the above car at Napleton, the fixed bucket seats are awesome. Very comfortable, ingress/egress is actually much easier than the Porsche fixed carbon buckets too. Trying to see if I can get this added to my '23 coupe but likely won't be able to due to supply.

I'm not a fan of the napleton dealership by any means, I got my vantage there, and they're the ones who took my deposit for an MC20 at MSRP only to call me 3 days later and say they now need a 20k ADM lol. I've been very happy w/ my Ziegler experience so far, sales manager there is trying to see if they can request the lightweight bucket seats, but won't know for a couple weeks as they're on holiday for August.

That said, if someone wants a very nicely specced yellow car with the rare lightweight bucket seats, the one they have is gorgeous. It's been sitting for 2 wks, so I'm sure they're willing to deal. Maserati corporate actually yanked the sale from them when they found out the buyer was in the aftermarket car parts industry, strangely enough.
