I spoke with a dealer in Southern California today who told me that May will be the last month the GS and coupe will be produced. Perhaps I misunderstood when he said that they will continue offering a fully loaded limited edition GS after that point, subsequent to the Victory Edition. Does anybody else know about this?

He also continued the rumor mill about the platform for the new coupe, saying he's heard it will be based on the 612 Scaglietti platform....

Just curious...

I spoke with my dealer here in Hk on this as well...

he said it's not absolutely certain yet... on the 612 platform issue, i doubt they will do that... the 612 is huge in comparison to the GS/coupe. not sure whether ferrari will "lend" its flagship platform to maserati to create a new coupe/GS.

maybe they will, for a price.

Seems like that would just push our Masers closer to obscurity, which the brand has worked so hard to get away from in the last 3 years or so.

Oh well, glad I own my GS for me rather than for resale value...

yea...Maserati is having a serious identity issue...but anything is possible, after all FIAT owns them both. Maserati needs to be its own brand I very much doubt using either alfa or 612 platforms will work.

not sure about production ending in may.
what about that 'no frills' coupe? there's no news on it.

honestly i doubt they will borrow the 612/599 platform. this will be a disaster to ferrari 612's resale value. and people are complaining about maserati's resale...
