A recent post brought my attention to this.
I saw a Buick Lucerne in a Best Buy parking lot yesterday.
I think that like many other main stream car designers, they seem to have a particular exotic in mind and try to imitate the style of that particular exotic.

It sure looks like the Buick Lucerne's design team had the Maserati in mind.
What do you think?

The three vents on my Maser is one of the most distinctive styling features. It's an overused automotive styling flourish at this point, and I know many have denigrated Pininfarina for the resurgence of a "Buick" hallmark.

I was curious about the history, and I was surprised to see that the 1947 Maserati Maserati A6 1500, their first 'road car' included three distinctive side vents. A full TWO years before side vents appeared on the 1949 Buick Roadmaster.

Of course, the side vents are much larger and not as petite as Buick's "ventiports" but I will argue that Maserati was utilizing side vents before Buick.

Would love to hear any challenges on where I am wrong?
