I leased Levante 2018, it has 6600 miles now I have service sign on it. I guess it's an year, so it requires oil change. I called the dealership, they told me, car requires oil and oil filter changed, viper blade replaced and pollen filter replaced for $800+Tax.

Question is : Do I have to get it done by the dealer.? Or can I take it to Jiffy Lube and pay less than $200 for all these things? Will I lose warranty or have a problem at the end of the lease if the maintenance was not performed by the dealer?

The dealer doesn't need to do it for the warranty to stay in place, but I'm not sure about letting a place like that do it..Those places can screw up anything...Plus they won't have the software to reset the service indicator most likely..A independent Maserati shop would be a better choice and it is gonna cost more than 200.00 to do that....Jason

It amazes me how much the price varies from dealer to dealer. I have my first maintenance scheduled for next week -- quoted $489. That happens to be the lowest I have even heard of, so I double checked. Thrilled with that. I was prepared to hunt down a foreign motors specialist.

18+ vehicles do use 10w60, instead of 5w40. that stiffens up the price a good bit in parts cost. my dealership runs about 250 for a 5w40 oil service, 375 for 10w60 due to oil cost alone.
wipers are about 80 in parts, pollen filter about 60 for parts. labor is small on each of those.
you're get marked up a good bit somewhere, but not by as much as you'd think.

My service ended up being $491.47. No pollen filter (not offered) and no wiper blades required. Guessing those items would be a decent up-charge. I've used the wipers maybe 15-20 times and the Levante is garage kept.

Anyone know why the Pollen filter wasn't done? That actually strikes me as odd after I re-read the OP. Overall, I am very happy with the service.

Asides:
  1. Two recalls were noted when I dropped off -- both are software related and noted on the attached images.
  2. That dealership has the worst lounge areas for customers I have ever experienced in a high-end shop.
  3. Overheard a salesperson explaining to a lady looking at a Bentley GT, when asked what that thing that comes up out of the trunk is for (spoiler). Sales rep says, "it makes it look more sporty". My head almost exploded. LOL

I didn't see, wasn't asked, and assumed that was normal for the model. Guess not?

i've only replaced two drain plugs in years. one, the 10mm hex was previously mangled and i had to chisel the plug out. two, i dropped the plug and the magnet fixed to it came apart.

Interesting. I guess I shouldn't be too surprised.
