Maserati Cambiocorsa Problem...

My 2002 Maserati Coupe Cambiocorsa (with the latest Cambiocorsa software) no longer blips to match rpm on downshifts, even in Sport mode.

My car definately does not blip to match rpm. If I downshift at high rpm, the car will even lock the rear wheels!

Can you guys, esp if you have a 2002 Cambiocorsa with updated software, confirm that the car still "blips" to match rpm when downshifting with the foot on the brake with the car in Sport mode - e.g. from 3rd to 2nd while braking in Sport mode. It would be very helpful to know other owner's experiences.

Thanks

2002 Spyder here, with latest (June) updates. Still blips the throttle on downshifts.
Me too on my 2002 Coupé CC
I no longer have a 2002, but when I did have it (with upgraded software) I noticed that the blips were basically gone. When I asked my dealer about this, he confirmed and said that it WILL blip, but only with very aggressive braking. My 2004 behaves similarly. Given the conflicting reports, there seems to be some variability on how these updates are performed.
do not forget some tuning is possible on the clutch engagement, so maybe if the clutch is slow, there maybe not enough time to blip. Ask to your dealer what are the tuning possibilities on your car...

Must a lot of variability, then. Mine noticeably blips even without braking. Sounds great through the Tubi!
Thanks for all the replies. Please keep them coming.

My car is currently at the dealer - I will speak with them and hopefully know more, on Monday.

I have an 02 Spyder Cambiocorsa serviced by the Collection Miami.
In Sport Mode, it still blips.

Hello and welcome. This is an old and unrelated thread, but anyway, is your battery dead?
The first generation cars 02-03 gearbox ecu has either the original software, or an updated software, so a choice of two only. Once flashed to the updated software, it can't be reflashed back to the original software.
The updated software, unfortunately, loses the downshift blips, and many owners once this is discovered are very upset!
The only solution is to locate a gearbox ecu that has not been flashed, not easy.
The later 04-onwards ecu is different, and there are many ecu upgrade flashes right up to the last GS, which has the same ecu as a 04.
I am not 100% sure whether the later 04-onwards ecu can be retro fitted to a 02-03 car. I've heard about it, but can't 100% confirm.
So if you have a 02-03 car, don't get the ecu 'upgraded'!!
