Anyone with new Manheim auction reports on 05 and 06 Gransport pricing?
From what I can gather, the Manheim auctions are essentially a clearing house for used cars. I guess, cars that are traded-in at a dealer that the dealer does not want to sell on their lot, can go to the Manheim auction for sale to other certified used car dealers.

My question is, are Maseratis and other highline cars typically sold via Manheim auctions or do most of the higher-end autos get sold at the point of trade-in?

Excuse my ignorance. I know very little about the used car sales channels.

Keep in mind. If these are selling at auction they are rough or usually lemon law buyback cars. Clean nice cars do not usually run through. Not many Masers run through the auction

I assume you've never been to Manheim because nothing could be further from the truth.
I have never been to one but know plenty of people who have. I have heard that there is a wide variety of cars that go through Manheim. In many cases, the nicest cars with the lowest miles are kept by dealers. That being said, sometimes the dealer just doesn't want the car so it goes to auction. Is this consistent with your experience?

FYI. This one is listing on Ebay.

Buy it now is $62,900. I can't recall but I think I read somewhere that when a dealer buys at auction, there is a fee that is not included in the auction price, perhaps ~4% plus the dealer will have to pay shipping charges. So, my guess would be that the dealer cost on this one is ~$55K or so.

Boy, too much information

BTW, are these auction reports for all GranSports (i.e. coupes and spyders)?

UNderstanding that GS prices will be up till GTourismo hits

Did I spell that right? Several sources have told me that the Gransport prices will stay up till those that ordered their Gran Tourismo's come in; then we may see more Gsports hit the market; sounds logical; any thoughts as I was looking at a 2004 GT manual and will trade back maybe this Fall when more Gsports are out....just a hunch....dogdoc

Interesting to see the spread between wholesale and retail (sort of). Curious if anyone has any Manheim or other dealer auction reports for QPs. Thanks

Nice find! Does anyone know what the percentage fees are at Manheim?
My family owns a few dealerships, and just because it says it sold for 70,000 doesn't mean thats the dealers cost. Dealers usually have to pay 1% auction fee on exotics and then the transportation from auction for those type of cars is expensive and also those cars are usally not in thats great of condition and stripped of owners manuels navigation disks etc.. So when you see a manheim price on an exotic add about 2,500 on top of that.
