I think the company selling those would be the best source of answers, but it certainly looks similar to other devices that replace the factory changer and cannot be used if the car isn't set up for a changer. When you cycle through the sources, does your HU go straight from single CD to radio or does it show some sort of CD changer menu?

You can use if You've no got factory fitted CD Changer!
Head Unit automatically recognise that, if You connect CD Changer or Loudlink.

All of the HU has mini iso connector for CDC on the back side.

Molto Interessante!

This is very appealing to me. I've lost my Ipod, having previously used the IceLink controller for my 4200. Though this would be a car-specific installation, it basically would replace the Ipod. Question, though: Will this unit allow for random playback? The Ipod could be set that way, so while driving and using the IceLink, if a song came on that you didn't want to hear, you simply hit the CD forward button on the dash and a new randomly selected song would begin. If there's no option for a random playback, then the same order of songs would be present for each short trip, which would drive me crazy. I've sent the LoudLink people a question about this, as I was unable to find anything on their website relative to random playback or Maserati interfacing in general. How many songs can you get on an 8GB SD card, by the way?

Loudlink stop the playing when ignition off, and start playing exactly where it's stopped when ignition on again. That mean doesn't skip back to track1 0:00 and doesn't drive you crazy. Each folder (disk) can store up to 99s mp3.

Interfacing:

It's simple. You need a general blaupunkt cd changer cable. ( for example Blaupunkt cdc-a08 cd changer use this type).

Blue MiniISO <-> Din13 Circular

a,
Blue MiniISO fitted to the back side of HeadUnit.

Or if You have CD Changer preparation, You can find the Mini-ISO connector also in the boot, since the IDC-A09 Changer (factory fitted in Maserati 4200) has MiniISO plug instead of DIN13)

b,
Din-13 Circular plug fitted to Loudlink.

question for arnold

Arnold, I just ordered the loudlink for my 4200. I have a question: am I limited to 5 or 6 active folders on the loudlink, ie: the number of discs the cd player held, or can I use all 10 folders from my stock radio controller? thanks.
