I am getting ready to purchase a 2004 coupe F1 with 6500 miles for $45k. Is that a good deal. Are the F1's really that bad? What should I look for when doing an inspection

It's a great deal if the vehicle history is clean, the clutch doesn't need replacing, and there are no other mechanical issues. There are plenty of threads on the F1 system on the forum, but I wouldn't be deterred by it and your local Maserati dealer can run vehicle diagnostics and give you a read-out on clutch wear. The car has a 4-year warranty, so you'll even have coverage for non-wear items. I just paid a little more for an '03 six-speed, so I'd jump on it. What color is the car?

Good luck with it -

Bill
Congrats

Had the car inspected at a rediculously expensive $720 to do a leak down and compression check as well as do a PPI. The compression came out perfect as did the clutch. Evidently after 6k miles the clutch as experienced 1% wear. Did some only drive the car down hill. I drove the car 500 the first day. I love this car. I have owned an AM DB7, 996, 993, Esprit amongst other ordinary cars. This thing is awsome. It is almost as fun to drive as my buddy's 360 for 1/3 the price. I am soooo sold.
Congrats. You got a great deal on a great car. Enjoy it! Bill
