Does anyone find that the chrome (?) on the dash like around the air vents etc. is flaking? Amazing that the car is so incredible to drive but the interior leaves a lot to be desired. Is there anything I can do to replace/repair this problem? The flaking seems to be getting worse.

off topic - what do you do about having your car valet parked? i havent found a Valet who knows how to drive an F1 and sometime I have to have my car parked for security reasons when I'm in the city.

this is a common issue

I would suggest to never attempt to clean them with any type of solvent. Just use a clean cotton shirt. Mine were replaced under warranty

On your valet question

See http://www.maseratilife.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1944

I self park it in the best valet spot I see, right up in front of the main door, and then walk right up to them as I am going in, hand them a $20 and ask them to keep an eye on it. I keep the key. Have never gotten any response other than "Yes, sir!" - except once at a private country club where it was in the fire lane and the attendant said he had to keep the key for that reason, but he left it on top of the rear left tire so I could come out and take it anytime I wanted.

I just had the two outer vents and the cup holder replaced due to delamination of the "chrome-like" tape. Apparently the two inner vents are a major pain in the butt to remove, so th local FM dealer just did the outer. This is covered under warranty.

The book with instructions that tear out has come in handy a few times. I have watched the valet scramble to figure it out, and they always have a look of relief when they see the step-by-step.

Park the car yourself and if they ask for the key, give them a spare fake key that doesn't work. Works every time!

The red "valet" key is a good idea, unfortunately the GS doesn't have one, as far as i know only the Granturismo has such a key.

Still, i've never let the car to a valet.
