Discount tire will sell insurance on any tire, even if you haven't bought the tires from them! I am thinking about buying it, it is about $50 per tire. My Michellen Sport Pilot PS2's are about $350 each, so I think it may be worth it. They say if it goes flat, punctured, hits a curb and forms a bubble, etc... they will replace it. Has anyone else bought Discount tire's insurance?

Thanks,

Yes Yes..

the insurance they sell is well worth it...

I beleive they lose money on High performance tires. at one point I had 3 of 4 tires replaced. Our tires are more likely to blow due to their lower profile.

one thing, if you shop in one of their Brick and Mortor stores, the Insurance is often negotiable. .....often times in order to make the sale that day, they will discount the Insurance to close the sale.

I always get the road hazard insurance if available, regardless of source (I usually have tire rack drop ship to the dealership).

In DC and Northern VA there is so much roadwork and potholes that its not if you get a puncture its when.

First make sure they match the tire rack price (+shipping) :)

I like Discount Tire, I had them do a nail repair on one tire and they did a great job. (yeah, I expect to wear the tire out before I track the car)

I generally haven't bought their hazard insurance but the Maser tires are so expensive it is worth thinking about.
