Injector port cleaning

Anyone have any advice on how to clean the injector ports? I've lots of crud around mine and I don't like the idea of any of it falling into the intake manifold - maybe that doesn't matter too much?
I'm getting my injectors refurbished and would prefer to be putting them back in to a nice clean receptacle.

Is it just carb-cleaner and q-tips?
