Has anyone else noticed that their speedometer is off?
I realized it after using my cruise control set at 74 (to avoid a ticket). All the cars were passing me when usually I am passing them when I'm set at 74 in my Benz.
So, I timed myself for 5 miles and calculated that I was only going 69, about 5 mph off.
Anyone else notice this? I wonder how difficult it would be to fix at the dealer - if it is a computer issue or if the whole dashboard has to come off to fix the speedometer. If that's the case, I can probably live with it so I don't have to take the risk of getting my dashboard messed up.

My 2002 Spyder Cambiocorsa has the same 5 mph error. I've timed it and also checked it against two different GPS receivers and it gives a consistent 5 mph error. I asked my dealer's shop to check it out. they confirmed the 5 mph but offered no solution. I've seen this topic on other forums and the general conclusion seems to be 'that's the way they are.'

Enjoy your Maser!

Our '02 Spyder has the same issue. Because the Maser Nav system sucks big-time, I took my Garmin 2610 with me on my last outing - it indicates ground speed.

With the Maser cruise set at 73 MPH, the GPS said I was doing between 68 and 69.
