Hesitation at cruising speed

I took the QP GTS on a driving vacation a few weeks ago, and noticed something that has not been obvious to me in my daily commute. At highway speed at constant cruise, the car has an intermittent stumble. The frequency of occurrence varies, and there were stretches were it was very infrequent and others where it was happening within 10 second intervals. Car accelerates smoothly and I don’t notice it around town. It is pretty minor, so any road imperfections mask it. Only notice it on smooth tarmac while cruise control is on under constant engine load. I bought a fuel additive and tried a few full throttle accelerations to clean things out, but all i could notice is more or less frequent.

Any ideas where to look first?

The stumble could be related to a fuel delivery problem. It's worth checking the fuel filter for any clogs or restrictions that may be affecting fuel flow.
What year is your QP? I had to replace both fuel rails in my 2014. Very common issue.
Mine is a 2018. Was your issue something that steadily worsened? Right now mine does not affect general drive-ability, just is a slight annoyance when I am cruising on super smooth roads. Occasional hiccups under steady load. What was it like when you had them replaced?

I don't think a fuel rail is the issue..I have never replaced one on a V8 or V6 for that matter and when you have an issue with direct injection it isn't minor..Jason

Thanks Jason. So any ideas on what it could be?
That is a tall order for something so subtle...Maybe a coil getting ready to crap out? I would roll with it until it gets worse..J
Thanks, Jason. I appreciate the response. Will wait it out.

My issue was a stuck open injector so the motor just would barely idle and was flooded with fuel. As a precaution I replaced them all. Thats why in my head was thinking maybe an injector acting up on occasion.
On a direct injector...They usually just go bad and stay open like you had happen...We have had a few Land Rovers with fuel literately coming out of the exhaust slip joints...The smoke show that happens after you get it fixed and start it would blow away any 80's metal band concert..J
