The "Light Failure" icon (little red lightbulb) just came on on my dashboard. I looked it up in the manual but can not find any further information about how to trace it.

While this is not a major concern of mine, because all my lights seem to work, it is pretty annoying and I'd like to fix the problem thats causing it to come on.

Does anyone know how I can trace the source of problem? Can one of those simple code tracers I plug into the computer tell me what the source of the problem is? I recall reading that Spyders wern't as straightforward as most cars in terms of plug and play for tracing problems.

I've checked all of the lights on the car, which seem to be working, so I can't find the obvious cause for this light to come on. I'm thinking it might have something to do with the aftermarket HID lights I installed and perhaps a loose connection? Retraced all the wiring and everything looks ok, does anyone think aftermarket HIDs might have tripped this light on? If so how do I remove it?

Thanks in advance!

The light you are speaking of is the light bulb out indicator. It works by measuring the resistance of the bulbs in you car. If you have aftermarket HID's this will cause the light to come on. Also I have seen people who have the front bumper removed accidentally swap the light connectors causing the light on the dash to come on.

Thanks Bugatti. I suspected it came one due to the aftermarket HIDs. I purchased the car with the HID lights already installed and the Light Bulb Failure light was not on.

I can understand if the light came on right after installing the HIDs, but it just randomly came on the other day. Is there any way to turn the dash light off/reset it? If not, how would I go about troubleshooting it so it's not on?

Thanks in advance.

Try a shorter signature, it might work...;):)
