Heated seat question

1143 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Ramp
I have a Spyder w/o heated seats. Looking at the Euospares diagram, it seems like the heating unit is a pad that sits under the leather and plugs in and a switch in the seat. I assume the wiring harness is already there. Has anyone ever taken apart the seat unit or tried to install this after the fact? I could buy the heater assembly and switch but worry about destroying the leather when I install it. Anyone?

I'm watching the answer to this too. Not that I'll really ever need heated seats but, I'd like to add whatever options I can that didn't come with the car. I hate dummy plates where switches should go.
I also looked at this a while back and thought it should be a relatively easy fix - for an upholstery place - but I doubt anyone has ever done it. I looked at it when I was thinking of having my seats reconditioned and possibly enhanced with some extra side bolstering.
