I found this in an old review by canadiandriver.com

"Finally, there's a built-in drag racing function - hold the brake pedal, raise the revs to about six grand, release the brake and hold on - you get a perfect just-enough-wheelspin start to impress the neighbours and awaken the cops. I did not try this, in deference to the 700 km on my test car when I picked it up. Trust me - it does work..."

Has anyone done this? If so what was the outcome?

be careful, I am not sure your clutch will like this behavior, just use your nose if you want to try that, it is easy to distinguish the clutch smell to the tires smell (for sure you will loose some tire)...

Experimenting with launching my '03 Cambio, and found that revving to only 2500 RPM with brake on gets some wheel chirp and great take-off (assuming MSP off). I have noted the clutch smell, however, and since have stopped doing it. At something like 6000 rpm the clutch must absolutely fry.

I found the key to a good start without excessive clutch wear was to get the RPM's just over 2000, where the torque isn't limited.
