Spyder 6 speed
I visit Italy 4 times a year and have driven every type of Italian rental car. In general, there is no difference in an Alfa, Fiat, Lancia, etc., for shifting.
However, I have driven a 2000 Maaserati Spyder at the dealer (my Cambio Corsa was in for service and I asked to try the 6 speed GT) and found getting into 2nd gear almost impossible.
Knowing the people quite well, I commented on this and they said the problem is well known and the linkage on the 2003, etc., has been changed.
I also have a 6 speed 2003 M3 and having been driving manual cars since getting my license in 1963 (boy that was a long time ago and I must sound ancient).
