With all the gransports out in the market, at least 1 per dealer, are you telling me that one one on this board has one yet? Because I ordered Fuji White, it took an extra couple months. Mine is expected to hit the water in 2 weeks then 3-4 weeks for delivery. Can't wait.

my dad woulda had one soon, it was a black on black... but he didn't like the styling at all... so we bought the quattroporte instead...

personally, i love them, but they shoulda up'd the power to at least 450 hp... wtf is 400 even going to do, stock is 390... pathetic if u ask me. of course if i had bought one, i would Tubi the thing the same day and put a chip in her. some nice 20" HRE's and tint the windows, call it a day.

No US magazine has reviewed the car yet, so its still pretty much a secret except for the hardcore crowd like us. The positive is I wonder if 10K off sticker is a reality.

My first post.

I'm in the U.K.

I'll receive my Gransport within 2 weeks. I have driven one!

My decision was to be either a 997 Carrera 2S or a Maser.

I never got to test the 997 because i was so impressed with the Gransport.

A good friend has a F360 F1 and I can best describe the Gransport as a 2+2 equivilant.

I have a trackday booked at Goodwood on the 9th November but it won't be here in time.

However I did ask Maserati if the car would require a running in period.

"No" was the answer. The engines are hand built, blueprinted and then run in on a dyno at 7400RPM for 25 minutes.

That is very reassuring ot here because I will be driving this car very hard indeed when it does arrive!

I'll keep you posted,

Regards,

J.P

Maserati also drives the car around the streets of Modena and a track there. Your car should have about 150 miles on it at delivery. Book still says to take it easy for first 600 miles. Getting ready to store my car for winter and will get one more season out of it. Then trade in next fall and order the next generation spyder. After 7 months of driving I can easily say I have never had a car that was so fun to drive and sounded so great with it's Tubi. Not one single quality issue to this point and only saw one other Maserati on the road this summer. Took my brother this week to drop off his boxster S that he is trading in for the new S and pissed off the Porsche salesmen once again as every person there came over and checked out my car. Then when I told them how I got over $11,000 off sticker and Porsche not willing to budge much i think I got a couple into going to check out Maserati
Besides the 3 or 4 european reviews, both Autoweek and Car and Driver (usa magazines) just had there previews out. Both are very positive on the car as expected. I'm waiting for a bad review on the Gransport and so far there hasn't been one. The only complaint is some think the interior fabric is too radical.

As far as Porsche guys go, all they have to do is drive the Maserati and they'll start thinking. I told my local dealer who just started there franchise, hire established Porsche salesman who have strong rolodexes of buyers, hold driving events and let the car do the talking. You don't have to sell any b.s., the car's combination of luxury and sportiveness and true undenying italian passion comes through.

I agree with JP's assesment of the Gransport. I drove a 2000 360 coupe F1 transmition and then a Gransport back to back. The Gransport felt the equal of the 360 in every way. The 360 felt a bit more go-kart like with its harder ride, rattle noises and lower stance. The Gransposrt felt very sporty, yet smoother. F1 transmition was much better in the Gransport, interior is much better in the gransport. I actually feel that the gransport was sportier inside (i felt like i was truly driving and F1 car with the flat top steering wheel. The exhaust on the gransport is wild. It crackles (almost like a backfire) upon lifting the throtle. The deep rumble is load and impressive and the reving on the downshift is a nice feature. All this in a 2+2. 997S be ware! Drive this car and you'll never go back. I am trading in my 911 Targa for the gransport and never looking back.
That's good to here your comments Formula 1.

Is anyone else taking delivery of one soon?
The latest order update on have on mine is 2 fold. Since I have first choice on two cars, the first one is Black Nero with black and dark gray interior, its coming in the end of Nov. I also have a 2nd choice of a Fuji White with Blu Metal fabric/Blue leather which is due in mid Jan.

I like how the blue interior looks in pictures, but I read from a few that they don't like it. I guess this is where personal taste comes into play, if your paying $100K, you my as well get what you want.

My fuji white was just completed at the factory at the end of last month. It is just about to hit the boat and then 3-4 weeks. So end of this month, I should get it. Pizza - the blue interior with the blue fabric looks bad in my opinion. The blue fabric is too baby blue! The roof is lined with it as well, so it looks weird. I think you should go with a black or grey fabric. But then again, there are so few fuji whites out there that it will be a super exclusive color! I don't envy your situation. I was so early to order that I got my choice. But then again, I ordered over 10 months ago. Go to italia speed and click on auto shows and go to the geneva show and see the blue interior and then go to the paris show and see the black interior. You will see what I am talking about. By the way, the latest EVO magazine from UK has a full 4 page spread on the car and said it was fantastic, would not put money on it not beating the new 997 S.
I have about 60 web pictures of every color offered of the Gransport from various autoshows, dealerships, Maser events etc. and I really like just about any color.

Of the pictures I have of the blue interior, the studio shots look great, but the real world shots are not as good. I like the black with dark gray, but the one my dealer is getting in doesn't have the white piping it has the black piping so it will loose some of the effect. I think I like the blue interior because it fits with the traditional Maserati racing colors of today of white and blue. I just wish both cars were coming in at the same time so I could compare them side by side and make what I feel would be a clear cut decision. The black will really have to blow me away to pull the trigger otherwise I'll wait for the white. The black GS in the pictures I've seen and the regular coupes I've seen in person tend to loose the beautiful lines of the car. Plus all the extra air intakes kinda get lost in the black color, but they do show up nice in the white. I think if I could replace the order on the white, I would have changed the interior to black and dark gray. I guess I could get my deposit back and jump ship to another dealer, I doubt these car will be moving during the dead of winter. I think the moment a white and blue car comes in at any dealer within a short flight or drive of me in Ohio, I'll go see it and make my decision.

The choice of colour schemes is a difficult one.

I too would have loved to have ordered a GS in white with blue.

However, the blue tech cloth is vile and cheap looking. The white might look great in pictures but in the real world I think it might be a different story.

I opted for a classic appearance. You cannot go wrong with silver and black. The silver accentuates the detailing of the body shape, and the black interior provides a good feel of quality. Its also easier to keep clean.

Ugly, vile, disgusting, those words to describe the blue interior worry me big time. I guess if anything, it fits the mold sometimes of italian, exotic interiors. It just like the Stradale, there are some combos on that interior that I thought would look good, but they don't. Thats sort of the breaks when you're dealing with a rare, custom car. A lot times you're ordering something that you have no clue how its going to be until the car arrives. I sure hope a white/blue combo comes in soon at one of these dealers so I can see it in the flesh for myself.

I appreciate your guys feedback, I'm dealing with pictures and you guys have seen it up close, so it helps.

Phil,

I think there will be a number of dissapointed Maserati customers who have opted for the blue interior.

The car I drove was the lovely dark blue. The car looked superb, until, that is, I opened the door!

I know the white/blue combo is historically correct. However, the blue they have used for the interior certainly is not.

Perhaps black leather/blue piping with the Fuji Pearl White. A subtle compromise?

I find out tomorrow if my car is here on Friday. It'll take a week to register etc before I can take delivery. So my wait is nearly over.

Going back to colours. My brother has an old 308GTbi which has just been restored. Silver with blue leather interior. It looks great. BUT. its a nice blue that looks right with the silver.

However, you might find that the Maser blue looks just right with the Fuji white and no other colour! :)

Has your dealer got any other cars coming in with different colours?

I've just read a review in EVO magazine that has a red Gransport with black interior/red piping. Looks very Ferrari!

The review was very good. They reckon that its "check mate" with the new 997 S. Better than a DB9 and sooo much better than a 645i or XKR.

I have yet to hear one bad thing about a Gransport! (well, apart from the blue interior  )

gransport

I am in the uk and have ordered a gransport which is due for delivery in jan 05.I thought the technical cloth interior was awfull and spoilt what was an otherwise brilliant car,so in the end i opted for the full leather interior.i went for black exterior with tan leather interior and headlining, cant wait to take delivery.will keep you posted.
Have any of you seen the ball-polished rims in person? I didn't go for them on the black car I may get, but I did order them for the white car. My dealer said he would switch the rims if I wanted, of course thats assuming the black car will still be available when I take delivery of the white or vice versa.

I've seen them on the 90th Anniversary Spider in pictures and thought they looked good.

By the way Shelton Maserati in FL, just got a black one in, they haven't updated there website yet. Also another awesome review in Automobile magazine came out. They were surprised how strong this cars handling capabilities were!

Just got word the Nero car I have first dibs on just reached Ferrari/Maserati headquarters in New Jersey. It won't be but a few short weeks now!! My patience might not be strong enough to wait for the Fuji white car :D :D :D

By the way, there is a beatiful Nero with light gray leather/light gray fabric combination on the Ron Tonkin dealer website.
