I'm looking into buying a 05/06 Gransport and the prices seem to be all over the place. I want a Nero Carbonio one, and so far I found:

06 with 16k miles for $82k (all options, but navigation and heated seats)
05 with 11k miles for $75k (all option, but navigation)
05 with 33k miles for $58k (needs 30k service + new clutch)

What do you guys think? They are "flexible" with the prices, please help me decide which one to get, and at what price!!!

Thank you in advance, it's my first Maserati.

The GS doesn't come with Navigation so don't bother spending time looking for one with it.

Not sure what you mean by "All Options". The cars came highly customizable and have a lot of variation on "options" depending on what the original owner ordered based on his/her preferences. You could also look for a GS in LE form which was the last run of car from the factory (i.e. only for 06) that came with an option package that grouped some of the most popular factory options (xenons, premium sound, all leather interior vs. britex, skyhook etc.)

Seems like most are paying somewhere between $70k-$90K for a used GS depending on year/milage and color combo. They were $110K-$120K new when equipped with some of the more popular options so used car prices seem quite attractive to a Buyer.

Hey Alex, that car is exactly what I'm looking for! Thank you!

Alfa-tiv, all cars I've seen so far have Skyhook/xenon/premium audio/full. The variation is on the things that don't matter to me, like carbon fiber details, heated seats, britex vs. leather and etc. Also, they do have navigation as an option, it's in the stereo, believe it or not!

Check out our 05 GS w/ low miles on the classifieds section or give us a call. It's a well setup car.

The GS does not come with a navigation system as OE or OE option. If someone has it on their car, its an after-market solution.

The regular coupe and spyder on the other hand, came with a nav option tied to the stereo.

I don't think that many people actually paid the MSRP... Most of our customers paid in the low 90's for a new GS, now they're going in the low 70's 2 years later. It's not as bad as it may seem but the depreciation is still a bit steep. The good news is that I don't think they'll be falling too much more, the Maserati has a unique factor that just doesn't for other cars out there.

The Becker sourced Infotainment unit has gps and navigation system, as well as GSM network (so you can get emails alike), but I seem to recall the nav only works in europe, with use of a map cd in place. I don't know if anyone actually tries to use that clumsy UI system for anything other than listening music...

I have been looking for a nice 2005 GS less than 10k for miles for awhile now.
The price seems to be 60-65k even though asking prices are lo 70's. I have decided to wait until the first of the year and pretty confident they will be lo/mid 50's based off some auction reports I've seen.

here is an example on ebay that they have run a few times. The reserve was 72 now it's 65

Is there any other car out there that takes a 50% hit in value in two years?
DrEvil
MB, Land Rover, and I am sure a few more, are similar :) but 50% in 2 years is a bit exaggerating and those should be considered special cases...

But we don't buy our cars for investiments :) so depreciation has no meaning here :)

I don't know where you guys come up with blanket statements like "50% drop in 2 years...OMG!"
I bought my Bianco Fuji all leather last year for $99K new from the dealer, it has an awesome 11k miles on it now, and a year from now you'd have to pry it from my dead fingers at ~$49.5K (50%)....Good luck!
If you want to discuss cars of this calibre, please do it with some calibre.......

GPS-- Setting the record straight

My 06GS LE is loaded. It has a GPS which is part of the infotainment radio system. Its not the traditional GPS that has a full screen image of a map. Rather, the directions are printed on the radio readout, along with arrows and distances, all in real time. There is also voice prompting to take turns or merge, etc. I live in the US and I have the US DVD.

The car also has a GMS telephone system that works in conjunction with the head unit. It requires a sim card that is placed in a box mounted in the glove compartment. The rest is hands free.

BOTH OF THESE ITEMS ARE ORIGINAL FACTORY OPTIONS :)

When I got my car, I asked my dealer about the nav options on the GS and was told i wasn't able to order it OEM for the US. I really miss a nav system and would have loved to have an OEM one on the car. What a bummer!! :mad
