I got the idea from M! to start a registry for the MC Victory model of the GranSport. As you know, there were only 180 MCVs made and each MCV has a build number that can be found on a plate mounted below the center console controls. It's not clear but there were reports that less than 50 MCVs were planned for the US.

I searched through posts on this forum and on Ferrarichat and came up with the following list. Please feel free to follow-up to this thread with any additions and/or corrections.

Edit: Forgot to say "My hats off to you, paunch". Thanks for starting this registry for a very special car. I just added #85 to the list. Hope others can contribute too.

2nd Edit: That #88 Rosso in Hong Kong can and should bring big $$$ for resale since #88 and red are big for Chinese.

Wow. Didn't recognize that. I wonder if they picked that number with special significance for the Hong Kong market. Pretty cool.

Actually the red MCV has been on sale for a few times...

Red and 88 are of course good for Chinese but when it comes to the MCV, I think people prefers Victory Blu! (IMHO... :))

Victory Blue is the by far the most popular color for the MCV. Did you buy it new or used? Post photos if you can.

Cheers.

In May 2008 I was fortunate to drive a short stint between Maserati racing & development center in Modena to the main factory in the MCV 000 driven by --- Andrea Bertolini!! He is a truly friendly chap and stated this was his car! Yes, Victory Blue it was, - and the lable between the seats was "000", so it is not in Geneva anymore!! BTW AB pointed out for me the GTS in carmoflage back then.

Anyone selling victory blue or white fuji 06 MCV.... Please let me know:)
I've been looking out for other MCVs coming on to the market. Aside from the Grigio in San Diego that has been discussed here at length, I've only seen one other advertised recently. It was #53 (Nero Carbonio) that was listed on Ebay a while back. It showed up at Marshall Goldman in Ohio but was sold within a week or so.

I'm sure other MCVs will come onto the market in time. Keep watching Autotrader and Ebay.

Good luck.

Sorry Boys, no pictures were taken none permitted! Anyway, I was sooo taken by the opertunity and experience, that I did not even remeber to take my camera from my hotel room. Also, I get to Modena often, so the entire "being in Italy" is no longer a big deal. It is truly terrible one becomes complacent over time!!;)

BTW, I am thinking of arrangeing a trip to that area with Italian car fans, say May 2010, how does that sound?

Hey PKGS, found your twin MCV in Manhattan Beach:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Maserati-Gransport-MC-Victory-75-of-180-worldwide_W0QQitemZ120442533643QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Cars_Trucks?hash=item1c0aef370b&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=65:-2|39:1|240:1318#ht_1103wt_1305

It's #75 and it's up for sale. Has the Mercury wheels otherwise, identical to yours. The current owners garage is _almost_ as nice as yours ;)

Hopefully someone in SoCal snaps it up and we can get a photoshoot together.
Thanks for your kind words, paunch.

They're almost identical twins...except mine doesn't have those Mercury painted wheels and no interior gray piping.

and yes, it would be great for a SoCal GS-MCV get together and photoshoot!!!

Seriously thinking about this car (it would be great to have 2 SoCal owners) or an fully loaded LE (silver)...

I've searched the threads for an answer for MC Victory vs. LE but with no clear answer.

Any thoughts?

Also, in California, do you have to pay sales tax in a vehicle transaction with a private party?

Kind Regards,

Suneel

What is it that you would like to know about MCV vs. LE? Any specifics??

AFAIK, MCV and LE are just your regular GS with special trims and badges. However, MCV has those much sought-after MC12 seats and blue weave CF pieces inside and out. MCV also might have better (quicker) steering response...? not sure about this one...so don't hold me to it ;).

I hope you get that #75 MCV. From my experience, it's worth the extra $$. Those seats are simply TO-DIE-FOR!!!

Edit: oh, about the CA tax thing....are you kidding me? There is nothing here in CA that does not require a tax of some sort. Yes they will tax you on a private party sale if you want to register the vehicle in CA. However, the sale amount which they tax on is purely based on what you and the seller agreed to.

PKGS - thanks for the info.

So the only thing that's keeping me from pulling the trigger is that I've finally found a private party LE for sale - 3k miles, silver / black (my preferred color combination) fully loaded with heated seats, skyhook, CD changer, etc and given that I have a 7 month old, I'm just wandering about the convenience of accessing the baby seat in the back without the power seats and also the exterior color (I like it but not as much as the silver - mind you, every time I look at the picture, it's growing on me)

Also, since I can't read the ebay listing's window sticker - that's not helping me with the fair comparison. SKyhook is listed as an option on the LE but I can't make it out on the MCV sticker....

Oh and btw, I've been looking at number 119 below........love the nero exterior but not sold on the interior.

http://www.globalautosports.com/car/2006-Maserati-GranSportVictoryLimitedEdition-Coupe-23349.html

And you're right about the CA tax thing - bummer.....thought I'd ask though!

Maybe we will be doing this photo shoot..........that would be kinda cool

Edit: I was looking on the MCV list and I haven't seen #53 in Miami - anyone have any info?
