Here's a solution from an unlikely source. It's a solid aluminum stud that screws into the tow hook mounting hole. I've seen this installed on an '05 Coupe.

I'm sure there will be different opinions on the placement of the plate (off center).

Wonder if it has more to do with the fact that having the plates on the front makes it easier to catch speeders - flat surface to bounce radar off?

When I recently switched insurance I was surprised to find that they were aware of my front license plate tickets and that they were included as "incidents" for insurance purpose.

I hope they weren't considered 'moving violations'?
