This kit should fit all 4.7 GT's including convertible, sport, base, and MC.

Price: $1,500

Reason for selling: Traded in my 2013 GT sport for a 488.

Selling my FD Formula Dynamics ECM/DBW kit. If you're reading this post then you already may know how this kit completely transforms your GT. You can do a search on the forum to read many reviews and comments. Like when fellow car enthusiast and forum regular psb1013 recently made this comment about the FD DBW.

Without it, for me, the GT is almost undrivable.
With the addition of the ECM kit, it takes it to the next level...

Formula Dynamics is one of the forums most trusted sponsors and did a phenomenal job with this kit!

I've sent the kit over to FD to be tested and refurbished. The kit is currently at FD and will ship directly from their shop.

To give full disclosure (that I don't see on other classified ads selling their used FD chips) for all used ECM/DBW kits, FD does charge a small fee for reprogramming the kit to your specific VIN. I'm not exactly sure what the amount is you'll have to contact FD for details on that. I would also verify that the kit will work with your car (just mention Mike from Miami when you call in so they know it's about my kit)

The good news is because the items are currently sitting in FD's shop, you won't have to worry about all the back & forth of waiting for your item to arrive, shipping it to FD, then waiting to get it back. They can ship it directly to you, already programmed to your VIN!

Hello, congrats on the 488, but in regards to the DBW, am I missing something because FD sells it new for $1295.

Hello, congrats on the 488, but in regards to the DBW, am I missing something because FD sells it new for $1295.
Thanks for the well wishes on the 488, she gets delivered next week and I can barely sleep at night I'm so excited!

That is correct about the DBW retailing for $1,295. However, I am selling both the DBW and ECM which each go for $1,295. This would mean a cost of $2,590 to buy both kits brand new.

Why buy brand new when you can get my refurbished units at 42% off retail?

The unit has gone through extensive testing and is sitting over at FD's shop right now waiting to transform a lucky new owners car into a beast -I called my GT the baby California after it was transformed by this ECM/DBW kit >:)

From my simple understanding DBW mainly affects your cars response before 3k RPM and ECM gives the car a boost in the upper RPM ranges. But I'm sure I just butchered the description of the kit and FD can tell you more technical details. I just know that it's a completely night & day difference when these kits are installed in your car.

Honestly, they should come from the factory like this! It makes the car drive as well as it looks!

Got it, sorry I did not apprehend that you’re selling both the ECM and DBW. I wish I have the spare cash for it right now.

Good luck with sale!

great price, and I'm interested. I've just emailed FD to ask whether these modules can be used with a 4.2 DuoSelect QP, and the cost of coding to a new VIN. I will post up the response for information purposes.

bump for a steal of a deal...

$1,400 takes the set!

This is a fraction of what others are selling this for. I want it gone so I don't have to keep checking this forum anymore, lol.

You'll be getting a completely refurbished dbw/ecm kit shipped directly from FD! This isn't your regular used DBW/ECM kit that I just popped out my car and will be shipping to you.

All PM's have been answered, buncha fence sitters and looky-lou's so far.... The kit ready to be shipped directly from FD to one lucky owner.

You can't beat this deal!

I wrote to formula dynamics, and their answer regarding a 4.2 DuoSelect Car:

"...Reeves, Thanks for the email. This is correct, we do have 2 modules here from Mike DBW & ECM that he is looking to sell, However they are not compatible with a QP DuoSelect 4.2L.

Also in regards to using a 2nd hand module in another car, apparently there is re-programming required, again from FD directly:

" ...However, our standard fee for the service we offer : Testing the used Module, reprogramming it for the new car, supplying a new wiring harness, instructions and support runs $250 for a single module and $350 for 2 modules. Pricing car vary a bit on the service for some models, depending on all what needs to be done.

!
So does the buyer have to pay $350 on top of the $1400 that the OP is asking?
if you read the above, its shipped direct from FD, already re-furbished etc. I included the info because others are selling these 2nd hand and not including the re-furbishment. It makes this set an absolute bargain. Another seller on here (DBW only) which would fit a DuoSelect, wanted about $900 for that alone, and it would need refurbishing/reprogramming on top. What this means is that $1400 for both modules, sent from FD, is an absolute bargain. I wish it would fit my car. It makes the offer of $600 someone made above pretty mean spirited...

Pretty sure he's asking $1,400 and then YOU have to pay FD $350 plus shipping. Original add disclosed that it is at FD and would need reprogramming. If not I'll take it :)

That is correct, It cost $350 for FD to re-program both units...

But atleast you'll know the item is 100% refurbished and straight from FD so it's not like I just popped it out of my car and listed it for sale.

I wanted to make sure next owner was getting a 100% working unit and there would be nothing wrong with it.

This will definitely fit your 2018 GT MC. Not only that, but it'll completely transform the character of your car and make it drive like a sports car should. Don't take my word for it, read the other non biased reviews on this forum.

However, I can't sell it for $600 as I paid just under $2,590 for this unit... And after you enjoy it and are ready to sell your car, you'll be able to sell it for far more than $600 as these are easily interchangeable between cars.

I've already turned down offers to sell one of the units independently and they offered more for just the DBW than you were offering for both!

I had sport cats on my car and it and wasn't worth the time/expense of going back to stock and try to sell the sport cats on the forums... But this kit took all of 30 seconds for my non technical self to remove from my car (they pop right out)

This is ideally the perfect mod- you can also remove it anytime you take it in for warranty work - and I had plenty of warranty work done on my car including a complete replacement of the head-unit and, replacement of exhaust mufflers just to name afew...

The service department never mentioned a thing because once you pop it out the car reverts back to stock.
