I am a used car dealer and I have access to Internet MMR which is a program designed for dealers for getting wholesale prices from across the country from Manheim Auto Auctions. Here are some cars sold this year!

Some cars have options that others dont.
As you can see not too many Maseratis sold at the auctions this year. These cars are sold personally or traded and dealers keep them to re sell.

Hope you enjoy the information.

Some questions...

What does "auction sold for miles" mean? Also, what does the "above" and "avg" mean? Does that mean the miles listed is considered higher than average for the age of the car? If so, it is weird that one of the 2004 Coupes is listed as "above" for less miles than one of the 2004 Spyders listed as "avg".

Those should be the column headers - HTML ignores tab settings and runs everything together so it's

Auction = Riverside Sold for = $56,000 and Miles = 10,718

in the first example

Above, Avg and Below probably refers to exterior/interior condition?

Good Insight.....new car dealers will look at what a used vehicle does at the auction because they dont want to over pay for a your car. In most cases auction prices are lower than book values. That is why when you purchase a car new, you always get your lowest price before bring up your trade in.

Most new car dealers move their trades to wholesalers. If the wholesaler will pay more for your trade than they can make money moving your car quickly by giving you less. Always aim high with your trades.

For instance:

Just purchased my 06 GS Spyder with a list price of $111,600 for $94,500. It had 225 miles, never titled. When the dealer gave me that bottom line number I offered up my 2002 Corvett Conv. with only 21,000 miles.

This Corvette was doing around $26,500 - 28,000 at the auctions. I told the Maserati dealer what I wanted. Aimed high at $32,000. They came back with an offer of $27,000. I countered with $30,000 and accepted.

So in this case I received a 16% discount on the new car and received a higher value for my trade because they wanted to make a deal on the Maserati and mostly likely lost any profit moving my vette to a wholesaler.

Turns out this particular 06 GS Spyder has been in their inventory since March. The Maserati dealer just wanted to move it and take a big hit in doing so.

Their loss was my gain and the wife is enjoying it thoroughly!

One thing to note on these auctions, the inventory tends to be on the lower end of whats available to dealers to purchase. (quality \ options \ etc) There are many more wholesalers than dealers in the Manheim market for Maseratis, and many aren't as educated on these cars, on either side of the transaction. Most don't know the options etc. like a dealer does. Where our Mazda store buys 1/2 their non-trade inventory from auction, we buy 1/4 or less from these types of auctions, and single digit numbers of Maseratis from Manheim in the last two years.

Thanks in advance

Boombah, check Louisiana, they might have 05 coupes that have depreciated that much.. In all seriousness, check eBay. The prices on there are usually reasonably close to wholesale.

cars with new interiors.:D
