Hey guys,

I'm considering buying this GS. I had the chance to meet the current owner and drive the car; the owner is a great guy and the car was very impressive. I'm curious as to some feedback in regards to the price and mileage. I've read older posts about these cars and their common problems (I feel prepared for possible fixes), but I'm curious if I should run from a 72k mileage GS or embrace her with open arms. Thoughts?

Thanks,

Do as much research as you can on the car as it is, this forum should be an excellent resource for that. Probably the most important issue is really whether or not the car was well cared for and any issues resolved. If everything is running well and testing well during a PPI (Pre Purchase Inspection) from a quality shop with the right diagnostic tools for this model Maserati... then you're in good shape overall. However, if the car needs maintenance, has any issues, it can quickly not be worth the purchase since the repair and parts costs are still high even though the cost of the cars has dropped quite a bit.

Still, this is a great Italian car that can bring many smiles!

Hope that helps and Best Regards,

Thanks for the feedback/advice; it's greatly appreciated. He appears to have everything documented and has had all the usual trouble items replaced. The next step would be to have a PPI done which I didn't consider until you mentioned it.

When was the clutch done? Does it have FD dbw module which helps with clutch life and performance?
Has the heater core had an issue or replaced? Those are two common things on this car and the clutch especially can be expensive. But I believe the engine is pretty tough and should last a long time. But I’m not the most experienced and would love to hear feedback on that from others.
I believe the whole drivetrain is pretty solid
