Hello everyone

I am a first time Maserati owner, recently purchased a used 2017 Levante with 35k miles on it. I have been driving German (mainly Porsche) cars for the past 25+ years.

I am planning to get the regular maintenance done. Don't want to start another debate on which oil is better/best, but was wondering if anyone has any experience using Driven dl40 in Levante, or in general other Maserati cars?

Driven DI40 0W-40 Synthetic Direct Injection Performance Motor Oil (drivenracingoil.com)

If not, which oil are you using, and why, and what has been your experience with it so far? I know Pennzoil is recommended.

I believe the oil spec is 10W-60 synthetic. Shell and Pennzoil is the OEM, Castrol also makes it

Never heard of that oil...Any major brand is fine honestly..It is more important to change it on time than the brand...We cut the interval to 6250 miles...The 12.5K is kinda long...Jason

My oil change schedule is every 5k. But new oil may not address LSPI issues.

Driven is used by enthusiasts in VW/Porsche/Audi Turbo Direct Injection engines, EA888 for example, it helps reduce LSPI and soot formation, has good HTHS and low volatility which can result in almost no oil burning and reduction of stretching of timing chain issues.

Since Levante has Direct Ignition Turbo engine, it should help I guess.

I'm on the 6,250 change which I adopted from Enzo's.

I believe the 10w60 change only applies to 2018+. Pre 2018 Levante was 5w40 if I'm not mistaken. Pennzoil Platinum Euro has the proper 9.55535-gh2 cert which is required for the 5w40.

I have a 2017 Levante diesel 275Hp - I bought it at 60 000km.
What oil should I use? 5W40 or 10w60 ??? There is a lot of conflicting and confusing information out there

in the user manual, the manufacturer indicates oil Hell 10w60 but ....

"Synthetic multigrade lubricants SAE 10W-60 that meet API
SN/CF and ACEA A3, B3, B4 specifications.
Recommended oil: SHELL Helix Ultra Maserati 10W-60"

I doubt this information because:
1.This manual is only for Levante 2018 - it is not specified whether it is diesel or petrol - the two engines are different - i doubt they are the same oil
2.Experienced people - for example the "scuderiaparts" recommends 5w40

I'm already confused
