Hello I have recently found this message board this morning online. I have a 2003 Cambio Spyder. I have heard of these guys for years Tuning other marques and saw there advertisement in FORZA.

I am located in New York and have contacted them about this upgrade. I was a bit skeptical at first since ECU tuning is not that easy for just anyone to do. I had some Porsche Nightmares.

The owner sent me over a few references before I went with it I felt much more comfortable, I really didn't have much to loose since I paid via American Express.

There service was very exclusive, we made arrangements to have this done on my premise on a Saturday. This made me very comfortable and I can tell you they are real professionals that they went to this extent to make me assured. I was worried if something went wrong, my dealer would cause problems and I am not very handy and did not want to strip the car apart to remove it myself.

The owner arrived with one of his engineers with very elaborate equipment. It took a few hours to do the full program and I observed the complexity of this upgrade. They plugged in a special PC into the OEM harness and went through several programming steps for different computer maps.

Shortly the engineer a Native of Germany it seemed performed a full system check and then a final road test.

The Results: AMAZING, the car does not hesitate to start in the morning and now NY is getting colder. The car has enormous Torque that I can smoke the tires up to 3rd Gear.

I have emailed one of there clients who has a 2002 and he tested his car and got a 0-60 in 4.2, and after driving the car for 4800 miles prior I will accept this accuracy.

I give these guys Compliments for there outstanding work, it was the best $2,000 I spent on a single upgrade, my Tubi sounds nice but did not give me the juice this upgrade did.

Good Luck and just ask them as many questions as you like they really had a lot of patience with me via email. There Electronic Engineer works with the top tuners in Europe after seeing his credentials at my home so these guys wont botch up your car.

Sounds awesome. Thanks for the tip, I know our sponsor also does a great job. It would be interesting to see how the two stack up.
Hi Andrew are you refering to the Powerchip group?

Im sure they have good stuff but I have been into tuning all my cars for over 20 years now.

Over the years I have heard of these guys in AU, they recently came to the USA of course.

I have heard alot off issues using software from other countries in our US cars especially in CA where you only have 91 octane.

I have tried several companies over the years even the guys in AU and had check engine faults all the time, one of my cars they did was a similar Bosch ECU for my Mercedes CLK55, it never ran right I just had the dealer order me a new one and called it a day.

Once I got into this Internet thing I found dozens of these ECU groups and AU houses alot of them. The price was so inexpensive, like $599 at the time for all ECU work.

What I learned about the guys at Eurotek is that they specifically designed these programs for US cars and did not take a European Program and manipulate it for us US owners. I was clarified this by there engineer who babbled broken english.

I did phone Powerchip prior and they did say there upgrade is easy and takes under 30 minutes? Not sure why such a difference but I witnessed this firsthand and it was not a 30 minute deal.

It is just a matter of preference, Eurotek is a development group and manufacture which to my assumtion the reason you dont seem them online as others.

Chip upgrade

I am now in the market for an ECU chip upgrade. It seems the main players are Eurotek and Powerchip. Now that you have had this done for a few years do you have any additonal insight?

Not sure if you are going to hold your breath for a response, but these posts where made over 3 years ago. If you are lookin for tuning, look to Formula Dynamics. They have the most progressive tuning and versatility in the Maserati industry. I personally have seen thier car out pull me with only thier program the difference between us.

they offer a fully removable, warrenty freindly module that can be made to house multiple programs with a flip switch to change between. I see these guys at track days all the time. Not many other tuners take thier maseraties out and go full boar on a race track. That is the difference.

Formula Dynamics is a sponsor on this site, check them out. I am currently working with them for a full blown custom tune with multiple dyno and track tests.

I can tune your car for you. Just send me your car along with $10,000.00 and I'll "take care of you" (Vaseline sold saparately) :D

Robb,
What all are you planning for your custom tune with Formula Dynamics?
The plan is for both a 91 octane street tune AND a 100 octane track tune for track days. I will only have to flip a switch to go between tunes.

the holdup is that I am also integrating a butterfly in front of each rear cat that will open with the switch to the 100 octane tune for a less restrictive, more powerful full race type exhaust which will dump out right under the side doors.

I am also working on some small race mufflers before the x for the 91 octane mode.

With the addition of the trick exhaust work we are hoping for another 5-10 hp in the meat of the powerband with the tune. So realistically @ 30-35 HP over where I am now @350 RWHP. Should dyno at 375-385.

AND it will sound like an F1 car on the track. :)
