Hi Guys,

I know about : Never using AUTO and always using SPORT

And basically not babying the car but can anyone tell me if it's better to let the computer downshift or to do that manually also, i just guessed if it's bad to let it work out when to change up than the same would be said for changing down ?

You may want to downshift earlier to get more engine braking (no brake lights, seems to be best way to surprise the guy behind you who is talking on his cell phone).

Auto mode is marginal because: 1) shifts are even clutch-eatingly slower than non-sport mode, 2) the shifts are still jerky, but they surprise you when they happen, 3) there is constant downshifting 6-5-4-3-2 into traffic lights, 4) there is no downshifting when you mash the gas (no kickdown).

Other than that.....

smooth

I've found that if you increase the rpm back to "normal" (3000) and down shift to 1st it is a lot smoother. It's when you let the engine idle and down shift that the jerkiness happens. The problem is a timing issue. Sometimes you just don't have time to down shift at your leisure.

Same with up shifting. When I stabilize the rpm and shift, it's like it's nonexistent. I like to impress my riders with how agile it can be, then punch it and drive it like it's not mine. hmmm, I wonder if valets do that?
