Having a bit of trouble with my drivers side interior door handle. After pulling open, it no longer springs back to the closed position. Besides being floppy and annoying, it also has the effect of not always triggering the microswitch to close the window fully after exiting the car and shutting the door. I've got the interior panel off, and it looks like the mechanism to retract the handle is a sheathed cable similar to a bicycle brake lever, but not sure quite how it works and am *hoping* someone may have tackled this before??

I would take the passenger panel off and see if the drivers side cable has stretched or something, but there is one f**cking screw that WILL NOT come out on the passenger side, but thats another story...

I've now got the driver and passenger door panels off. The one screw on the passenger side that was stubborn is finally out. I bought one of those extractor kits, and very carefully drilled into the screw and then slowly used the extractor bit in reverse to back it out. It sheared off about half way as expected, but I was able to get the panel off and then eventually get the whole thing out. It was one of the screws on the bottom of the door and looks like it got wet at some point and was rusted, hence the reason it was sticking so bad.

Would still love for anyone with experience working on these cars to speak up on potential reasons for the floppy handle... :)

The QP door handle has a spring/clip integrated into the handle which causes the handle to close whenever pressure is release.

Obvious question, but did you check the spring or does the CC not use that type of mechanism?
