they aren't very problematic cars, might just need some general maintenance. Any mechanic can work on it.
Nah I’m looking to get another car to daily and keep this as a weekend car, however I just got off the phone and I need brake kits the mechanic said and tires and he thinks it’s gonna be another thing or tooMy evap issue was just some debris. Dealer cleaned it out and good to go. Sticky buttons are what they are. PITA to fix. Will it be a daily driver?
Brakes are just Brembos so don’t overpay.Nah I’m looking to get another car to daily and keep this as a weekend car, however I just got off the phone and I need brake kits the mechanic said and tires and he thinks it’s gonna be another thing or too
If this is the case I would just keep it however, your financial situation will suggest what the best/smartest thing might be to do.Nah I’m looking to get another car to daily and keep this as a weekend car, however I just got off the phone and I need brake kits the mechanic said and tires and he thinks it’s gonna be another thing or too
The mechanic i took my car to says i need 2 new front disks and a brake pad set and which will total too $2,632 including labor, He got his quote from the dealer im pretty sure, should i go with it or try to get some cheaper brake disks?agree that it depends on your financial situation. These cars are not problematic, but when something goes wrong it cost some bucks. Brakes and Tires are just normal wear and tear and as mentioned you can get a set of 4 brake pads for probably 300 bucks from ECB or equal. some people do their own brake jobs if mechanic oriented. I changed them once on a disk brake car and it's surprisingly simple if you have the right tools.
This is the ultimate weekend car and if you can put some money into it to fix things and like to tinker you can have a weekend ride and it will also be a part of your dad to keep with you.
So if i do wanna sell it, i should fix it then sell it? or try selling without fixing? If you don’t fix it you won’t get much for it.
Why not give these a try? I hear FD is a solid option. So if i do wanna sell it, i should fix it then sell it? or try selling without fixing?
Brakes and rotors are really easy to replace. Sticky buttons are somewhat troubling depending upon how often they are used. IMHO, Masi should have made them either aluminum or hard plastic to avoid the black rubber getting messy after a certain amount of time. Italian design but an afterthought on the material for heavily-used items in the car.Nah I’m looking to get another car to daily and keep this as a weekend car, however I just got off the phone and I need brake kits the mechanic said and tires and he thinks it’s gonna be another thing or too
Alright thanks ill have a talk with him but a family friend said his best friend is a mechanic and he wont charge much for labor so i might just go to him after he gives me rest of the estimateWhy not give these a try? I hear FD is a solid option.
They also have 2 options for pads:
Maybe about $1400 in parts. They are charging you $1200-$1300 in labor which seems excessive in my opinion unless they are using more expensive dealer sourced parts.
See if he will do it with your parts and you just pay the labor rate.
Also please verify these parts fit on your car.
I just received a Chicagoland Mas dealer quote of $1,500 for rear brakes on a 2012 QP5 Sport GTS. My understanding is that such amount includes new rotors and pads - i.e., an "all in" cost, before any dealer discount coupons.
Hello DSGT, I stand by my response. I am quoting the recommended work..."RBR rear brake job, replace pads, replace rotors, free up caliper slides." $1,400 before any coupons.
