Has anyone put larger tires on the rear of their Spyders. The rear has a nice footprint as it is, but larger/lower profile tires would look nicer.. My odometer reads 11 percent fast. Would going to say 285-30-18 help or make the situation worse.
I realize lowering the car would look nice, but I have read here that the suspension gets somewhat softer.

TIA

Doc,
It probably would make it more inaccurate, here's a link that would tell you exactly how much worst http://www.kabamus.com/garage/gears.html

As for lowering the car, as my wife puts it, "you wanted to 'pretty up' you baby, now deal with her attitude."
Actually, the suspension seems to have settled down a bit?? and seems to handle much better.

The key is rolling circumference. If you have 265x40x18 on your car and you want a larger footprint in the rear going to 285x35x18 might not hurt your speedo or odometer. These figures are just guesses on my part. You are going to a taller tire but using a shorter profile.
Your link did not work for me BTW.
Monday morning I'm going to contact a tire guy I have used for 10 years and get specific figures on what will work and won't.

the link works...just copy the url and remove the last period. Tire sizes do make a difference. Try your numbers. The larger the circumference the bigger the differences. Speedo and ODO will be even more inaccurate. As for me, 275-30-19 is almost the same as stock...
