I am new on this forum, my name is Lucas and I am owner of quattroprte face lifting model 2010 4.2.
I am living in Europe and my car is a European model as well.
I have a questions, may be some of you can help me.
I would like to import car from USA .On one of your internet auction I have found quattroportte with 4.7l . Is there any significant differences between Europe model and USA model ( I familiar with basic like lights, Odometer etc ) but there is any other like exhaust, suspension , breaks ?

One more question regarding exhaust end mufflers. Is there any difference between face lifting 4,2l model and 4.7. I listen exhaust in model 4.7 after start engine and sound on the beginning is more lauder than in my 4.2l. Is that’s mean that in 4.7 model is installed active muffler with on/off valve. I saw on the spare parts drawing (scuderiacarparts) that 4.7 has additional air installation system for this exhaust. Can some one confirm ?

I can't see any valves on the Eurospares parts diagram for any QP, but that may not be complete.

If the valved mufflers are available, you can fit them, with a control kit from Formula dynamics and connect them to the secondary air system on your car.

On my 4.2l there is no any valve on the mufflers, I want to know or ask some one who has 4.7l if muffler in 4.7 l are equipped with this valve. In 4.7l model there are additional pipe connected to aft mufflers. https://www.scuderiacarparts.com/part-finder/maserati/quattroporte/oe/85/2023/35758

There aren't major differences in features between the USA / Euro models, there is of course Left Hand Drive vs Right Hand Drive.

As to the mufflers, few QP 4.7L's have valves, the only model that comes with factory valves being the QP Sport GTS 4.7L.

However, we do offer a retrofit control kit to control just about any valved muffler system as well as Performance Valved Mufflers.

And a very good kit it is as well. I have one to control the valves on my 4.2 (I have 4.7 mufflers fitted on the GT)

Thank you for answers, my QP has wheel for left side so there is no any differences whit US cars.
Regarding mufflers, if I good understood there are some Quattropore S equipped with OEM control exhaust valve. I know that this valve is opening automatically (no possible to open by sport button as in GTS )
catmanv2 yours muffler is from QP S and it is equipped with this valve?
FormulaDynamics – Is it any possibility to buy original QP mufflers with valve (can be used of course)

My muffler is from a Granturismo Sport. I don't think they are the same as for the QP

Yes I believe that the mufflers are different. I would like to know is the same situation is with quattroporte 4.2 and 4.7s. My idea is the same as yours catmanv2,
but i can not find any OEM mufflers with valve.

The QP / GT Mufflers are different and sorry there is no way to convert or use any other QP Stock mufflers to work with Valves. The only factory option w/ Valves was the Sport GTS Mufflers or we have access to the Maserati Corsa Race Muffler which is a great compliment to the QP4.2L if you want to retain a Maserati made Muffler. Im wondering if you did import a car from the USA, and how that went. It looks difficult, taxes, VAT and so on, but maybe you can give a story thats the opposite ?

Well only U.K. Cyprus, Malta and Ireland are right hand drive in Europe, everywhere else is left hand.

Not a fan of those valve things, a feel it’s cheating a bit, I know I’m being anal just feels wrong to me!
